Too much for the asking price, if i bought one i would certainly have the grille changed other than that nice car . Yep i agree Falcon F6 is overated i own one, handle’s good but i get blown away at the lights by 70yr old granny’s in their Datsun 120Y’s. Took a trip to Goulburn recently in my F6, thought i’d open it up give it a quick blat got up to 250kmh and was overtaken by a toyota Yaris. That crushed me it really did…to make matters worse the Yaris was towing a Caravan ! Got to thinking theres something very wrong with the Falcon, so took it to the local Ford dealer, service dept opened the bonnet guy pointed and said yep thats your problem, i looked and said where is the problem ? Service bloke said right there see it says F O R D !

Why couldn’t the HRT 427 seen in the early 2000s be the base on which to build this? Wheres the carbon-ceramic brakes? Or the weight-saving? This may be a BIG sedan for a BIG country but it sure as hell is not any BIG thing. Its exactly like the Aston Martin DBS, trying to make something big out of something small. In fact its virtually dead-on being Australia’s DBS. A normal GTS but where everything is a little bit better. So as JC would say (besides what I already have said), it should of being called a “GTS-S” or perhaps in tribute to a previous car the “GTS-R”. Or maybe they should of just put the bloody 7.0L in the GTS in the first place and returned the GTS to its former glory?!?

Lets face it this car is awesome. For those die hard ford fans that keep comparing it to a F6 wait till it acually comes out then put side by side.I work for a certain dealer and the F6 is very over rated not to mention the normal ford problems that come standard.

Not the best looking car but it grows on you
Price is alot but for holden fans looking for
something Unique this is it. No Stock Ford FG F6 will beat it.

Why would you bother? why not buy a 20k Commodore Spend 60k on it and smash everything? If you wanted a fast street car money would be better of spent elsewhere

Holden (GM) need to spend up and make a new V8

Say what you will, but not everyone likes the w@nk factor that only comes with owning Euro trash, cars for posers who say CIAO at the end of phone conversations and who have those stupid clamshell phones and loudly snap them shut then look around hoping people saw them.

First of all, hp is not the most important thing you tool, the LS7 has torque where it needs it. hp is about marketing, torque is about getting the job done. hp/litre is irrelevant for the reason I just talked about, and also because it automatically favours the smaller displacement due to the law of diminishing returns.

Even though I’m not a fan of the car to call buyers of them “aspirational bogans” is a bit much. Just cos someone likes Ford or Holden doesn’t them a bogan. I’ve seen plenty of bogans driving Toyotas, Hondas & even BMW’s. Some people like the performance and experience only a V8 can give and fuel consumption is quite low on the priority list. If fuel consumption is your primary concern good on you but to whinge because other people dont give a rats about it is just asking for an argument for the sake of an argument.

How come Corsa Special Vehicles can put the same engine in a commodore and sell it for much less??? I know which one Id rather for bang for your buck. For $150k though I’d take the RS4 personally.

Fiji water when it came out it was like 10 bucks for a small 300ml or so and only sold in selected stores / restaurants. Even though the elements were the same as any cheaper water it made the people think its special. Likewise with this car, buyers will think they are in an elite group of Holden owners..

Im pretty sure you go to the U.S. somewhere someplace they have expensive cereals, selling directly to numbskulled celebs making them think this is elite stuff.

I agree with wheel nut any figures hsv have given us has never been achived by any car tester ever .And with new falcon turbo i recone if you put fatter rubber on it it would do much quiker times as its the rubber stopping it from showing full potental. so just buy 2 cars for same money 1 for her and 1 for me good exscuce to con the misses over lol

topdog .i agree……alo to pay for a tiny increase in speed. Anyway the GTS doesnt do 4.8……you knowhow HSV lie about their figures. If 0-100 times are important to a person then just buy an FG XR6 Turbo and flash tune it and it will beat this 7 litre V8 anyway……for around 50 grand !!!!!! what a joke HSV !!

I thought hsv said that its gts could do 4.8 to a 100 so for 60 thousand dollars more it can only manage 4.4 to 100 if it dose do those numbers thats a lot of money for just a few tenths quicker

i hope its not holdens quoted figure or you can be sure to add a few easy tenths to that

i dont think it will flop.
i actually think they have released too many though (if that doesnt sound like a contradiction).
would have been better keeping it to around 200 i reckon

even if it is the rich bogans that will buy it, dont worry there are plenty of them out there, hence it wont flop
