Nunawading Toyota (Melbourne) has a f*ed customer service. Dont buy the extended warranty from them they are useless when it comes to service and customer support sucks. They suck us dry and when there is an issue they talk some thing else.

Hi Mario,
I used to work for a large Toyota dealer for 4 years, in the service deparment. I can honestly say I have NEVER heard of any retaining bolts for ball joints falling out. You didnt have a lift kit or anything like that fitted to it did you? The spot lights being loose were not an indicator of the quality of the Toyota, but the poor workmanship of the selling dealer. Who is the dealer? Have you spoken to them about it?

I am writing to inform every one how dissapointed with Toyota i am!
A little bit of history, i have been a Proud Hilux Owner, having owned a fantastic 1992 SR5. The old girl had done me proud until it finally gave up the ghost after almost 400 000 kms. Because i was so happy with the hilux i decided to upgrade and buy a new 2009 SR5!
Any way after waiting for almost 4 months to take delivery of my brand new machine, i was so excited to pick up the new rig, organised flights to fly to Perth and pick it up, with plans to do a bit of an adventure tour consisting of 1800 kms of open road.
I picked the car up, it looked the part, Toyota had done well. They had fitted all of the fruit as requested. Time to hit the road!
Well i made it 700km out of town before the retaining bolt had fallen out of the front left hand ball joint (at 110km/h this can be quite scary! Not to mention the damage)
Any way, managed to crawl into the next town, who just happened to have their very own Toyota dealer. Got the bolt replaced and was told that this is a common occurance and the Toyota mechanic was notified of this problem 6 months prior to this incident.
Not only has toyota denied this as being a common problem, but they are also think that repairing the car will solve the problem. Well i think not! When someone buys a new car, they expect to receive a new problem free vehicle that they can jump in, turn the key and drive! Not a vehicle that has been repaired and god only knows what kind of internal damage!
Any way, finally made it home, managed to get some parts ordered for the vehicle, had the front end bolts checked and back on the road.
2500km on the clock now and the driving lights have fallen out of the bull bar, and at close inspection there doesnt seem to be any screws holding them in place!

I tell you what, after this i am no longer a proud owner of a Hilux, I am now the embarrassed owner of a piece of crap lemon!
So for all of you out there looking at buying a new hilux, i would seriously reconsider!

We have had engine problems for over a year, and there is even a recall on the engine. I have taken the care in on several occasions, assured the problem was fixed, and as of today 9/10/2007 it's back in the shop same engine issues-still under warrenty, but no one at mazda is willing to help. This is a very short version of the problem, and I'm hoping someone out there can help us.
Thank you,
Dennise Gray

HI,
A pleasant day to you!

I dont have a complaint but i have a query as it's my first time buying a second hand car. Im wondering if you can advice me. It's about an extended warranty for buying a second hand car. The car im planning to buy is a 5yr old model and got 35000 kms., to buy the car i'll get 3months warranty and if i want to extend the warranty for another 3yrs i have to pay extra roughly $1600. Do you think I should extend the warranty?

Im thinking twice because a friend of mine told me that he had the same situation she bought a second hand car and extended the warranty as she was told by the dealer that it'll cover any failure in her car and would not have to pay for parts and service. But when she started to get problems with her car and took it to the dealer, they did fix the car but she was charged for bits and pieces. Why is that?

My friend told me not to bother extending the warranty as it's just a waste of money and time. If ever the car breaks just take it to somewhere else like repco. Im very confused, hope you can help me with my query.

Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.
