Lexus GS F on the way: report

Lexus is reportedly working on a high-performance Lexus GS F, set to be the most powerful Lexus sedan ever made.

According to a recent report by Inside Line, Lexus is working on a sports model of the recently unveiled Lexus GS. The report says it will get a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 producing 410kW of power and a string of performance revisions to the suspension and brakes.

Like the normal Lexus GS, the Lexus GS F is said to feature a rear-wheel drive layout and would include an eight-speed automatic transmission, similar to the current Lexus IS F.

It is only early days yet but Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda has expressed interest in the company developing more sports cars and rekindling the sporty spirit of the brand. He recently said in the Inside Line report,

"I want Lexus to compete around the world with global Lexus models. And don't worry about high-performance Lexuses like F Sport and F models going away."

A possible Lexus GS F is rumoured to hit showrooms sometime in 2014. What do you think? Do you want it to be produced? Will it need to be as good as the new BMW M5? Feel free to give us your thoughts in the comments section below.
