BMW X6 Crossover

BMW are following Mercedes-Benz's path into creating as many models as they can. Whilst Merc has practically a car for every single possible need you can think of, BMW has usually stuck to their guns and continued improving their current range.

With the disappointing 1 series out of the way, BMW are at it again, this time they are bringing out a car to compete with the likes of the Audi Q7. The BMW X6 crossover.

Whilst this model will most probably not make it to Australia for sometime (if ever), it is still worth looking at. The new X6 crossover will be built at BMW's Spartanburg manufacturing facilities in the states which already build the X5 SUV and the Z4 roadster.

In the modern age of using one platform for as many cars as technically possible, the BMW X6 is based on.. yes.. you guessed it, the BMW X5. Now whilst BMW are not actually really talkative about this car, there have been reported sightings of a prototype of the car out and about in Germany. It is expected that this car will be about 24 months away at best.

Also as its early days, no one really knows what engines might power this beast, but likelyhood of the top of the range 6-cylinder 3.0 petrol and diesel engines. Also a possibility of a twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine will be available to go along the current 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine.
