Ford Ranger prices, specifications for Australia

Pricing for the all-new Ford Ranger ute has been announced, along with the various trim levels and engine specifications that will be available.

The all-new Ford Ranger will be available in three different model variants and in three cab styles: single cab, super cab and double cab.

Making up the entry-level range is the Ford Ranger XL. It will come with 16-inch steel wheels, MP3/iPod compatible stereo, a 4.2-inch multi-function display, power windows and cruise control.

Next in the range is the Ford Ranger XLT. This will come with 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, a polished roll bar, tow bar, cooled centre console box, dual-zone climate control, and a tray bedliner with a 12-volt socket for the double cab variants.

Topping out the range is the Ford Ranger Wildtrak, which is available only as a double cab. The Wildtrak features 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, power adjustable and heated front seats, a five-inch satellite navigation system with rear-view camera, and a sporty front bar and roof rails.

Each variant will be available with an optional Hi-Rider pack which will give models a higher ground clearance as well as a volumetric alarm, special decals (on the super cab versions) and front seat side and curtain airbags (super cab and double cab models).

Importantly, all variants will come with dynamic stability control as standard, along with traction control, ABS brakes with emergency brake assist and an emergency brake light which flashes under emergency braking.

Three engines will be available on the new model: a 3.2-litre Duratorq TDCi five-cylinder turbo-diesel producing 147kW and 470Nm, a 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi four-cylinder turbo-diesel producing 110kW and 375Nm, and a 2.5-litre Duratec four-cylinder petrol engine producing 122kW and 226Nm.

The new Ford Ranger will go on sale from next month, kicking off with the 3.2-litre models, and then all other variants released from October through until the first quarter of 2012. Pricing for the new Ford Ranger will be as follows (manufacturer's list price, excluding on-road costs):
