I am one of those stupid Americans that own a 2009 CTS-V .

I see you all in my ear view mirror, with you doors blown off and tears in your eyes.

Hate us not because the CTS-V is a better and faster car for 64K US dollars than the twice to three times the cost of your euro cars... The 2009 CTS-V is just better, and I have no thoughts of the snob appeal owning a MB, BMW, or Porsche.

BTW, the V is as advertised, one very fast puppy, many have been modding the car and getting very, very fast times. Boosting the HP up with small changes, the Sports tuning people really can speed this car up because it has the LSA engine.

The etyling is fine unless your just trying to be a nabob, jackwipe

You always have the average joe (knows nothing about cars) who hit the jackpot at sharemarket, poker, lotto etc too.

hehe 15 years is a long wait, I know when I was around 16 or younger I was dreaming about an F40, not I look at it i'll rather the Enzo, or even a F430... Scuderia of course :P, somehow I cant stop oggling at the Gallardo each time I past the Lambo dealership at Chapel Street here in Melbourne....

People wanting to buy this car has performance pretty much at the back of the mind,

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I would think that this usually is the case with a lot of sports cars. By the time a lot of owners of Ferraris and Lambos etc are able to afford them, they would be pushing retirement age if not already over it.

Me however, I would like to own a Ferrari F355 (my dream car as a kid) by the time I turn 40 in 15 years time. I think this is a realistic goal, so long as in the future I'm not married to a woman who has me on a tight leash. :)

I was just thinking.... inorder to promote the new Cadillac CTS surely they would have chosen a range of photographs which show of its best features or were taken from its best angle...?

Then I realised.. It doesn't have any and there isn't one.

I mean the front on pic with the two women getting out of it. shows people its got a "smile" similar to that of a pimply faced adolescent wearing braces.. not good! and the two girls look like they are a couple of Mexicans who have just made it [ilegally] across the USA border - are about to dump the car in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere and make a run for it.. not a good image

I just noticed something is that the VE GTS rims on the first image of the Cadillac?

Nice perfomance and not a bad exterior with a nice interior.

I hear you Alborz :)

Just don't like the look of the thing! hehe

AMG still hammers out a 4.4s 0-100 which isn't exactly shabby...I know what you mean though :)

I wonder what the pricing will be like? I've done a quick google but can't seem to find anything.

American cars seemed to have much better styling some 15 years ago when I lived there. They shifted their focus to SUVs some time ago, which are dying off with fuel prices. Hopefully they will fix the ugliness of their cars now. This cadillac retails for over 80k US with the convertible at 100k in the US. Thats wat too much for a cadillac! To me they are trying to hard. You could put this engine in a German tank and get 4.0s, with better looks to boot. I just dont see the point.

I'm with you guys, Americans just have no idea when it comes to style (you only have to look at the American version of the new Focus to see what I mean)

I'm not too sure on where the pricing will sit but either way I would MUCH prefer the C63AMG, M3, RS4, S4 etc.

Why on earth would you buy this before a C63AMG?!?!???

With its current styling, Cadillac won't be too popular in the luxury segment in Australia. Australia looks more towards the European look if you ask me, this is just too polarising. Also, it doesn't have a BMW badge, perhaps the only thing allowing BMW to sell cars that look like they do now.
