Lamborghini Aventador crash – that didn’t take long

By Karl Peskett |

The Lamborghini Aventador is the latest and greatest in the raging bull’s stable, and hasn’t been out for very long. So, it had to happen at some point – there always is a first – but no-one expected it so soon.

This poor white model came to grief in Italy during an overtaking manoeuvre, when the driver didn’t quite judge the line of cars he was about to pass too well.

GTSpirit reports that as the driver overtook, the truck up front moved to the left to turn and with nowhere to go, the Aventador’s wheel clipped the truck. That sent it into a spin and then went through a sign, a telephone pole and a fence before ending up in a ditch.

As a testament to the strength of the carbon-fibre monocoque, the cage was barely damaged, and the driver walked away uninjured.

Good news that no-one was hurt, but it’s always sad to see exotic metal (or should that be carbon-fibre) in a sorry state. Especially one that’s worth $789,000.

The Julia Gillard of Lambo owners…if you can’t get the job done without wrecking everything around you then don’t get behind the wheel!

    • UMWHAT

can ANY politician in australia get the job done?

      • Devil’s Advocate

        Not at the moment!

I really don’t care for Julia Gillard, but give me a break. It’s the whole bloody Labor party and those stupid Greens that’s the problem, not just her.

  • Car Fanatic

Not jealous at all I admire some one who can afford a car like this. I detest idiots who don’t take due care and attention that endanger the lives of others.

You wanna drive like a wanker, take it to a track, very simple.

Poor car, hope it get fixed before putting it on road.

  • diesel

worth $789k, please!!! only in abnormally inflated Australia, would anyone with half a brain believe that any car is worth that type of money. It USA they are only $400k and yet the dollar is weaker than the aussie dollar. As for the driver….just because you can “afford” one, doesnt mean you have the skills to drive one….

  • Shak

Why are idiots allowed to buy cars like these? I know cars are inanimate objects, but i always feel bad for them when they have to suffer because of their owners lack of skill/stupidity.

    • Random

If something is inanimate it means its not real; you cant touch it. I think you meant to say cars are non-living.

Just goes to show even expensive cars get involved in accidents too. Firstly, great news the driver is ok.

Secondly, the que of cars in the other lane. Are they all slowing down the see probally the only Damaged Lamborgini they may ever see or stopping to have a word to the driver for breaking such a car.
