2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe spotted in factory

After yesterday's confirmation from Hyundai Australia that the next-generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe will make its way to our shores, images taken by a Hyundai employee have been leaked online showing the face of the new 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The new Coupe was found sitting on factory floor.

The new face showcases Hyundai's latest design language, also seen on the Hyundai Veloster, presenting a large hexagonal grille which extends from above the front bumper bar into the lower main fascia. This section is all in black to give it a more sporty look compared with the latest range of Hyundai vehicles.

The headlights for the next-generation 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe feature a more complex design, with separate coves and sharper angles for different segments of the headlight cluster and separate bulbs. Almost triangular spotlights in the front corners of the bumper bar also feature a string of LEDs along the top.

The overall bonnet design is much more flat (convex even) compared with the outgoing model, giving the impression of a more tradtional long-nose/short-rear layout of a typical rear-drive sports car. The new rear end also showcases an all-new angular taillight design.

The new 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will reportedly come with two engine options to begin with. A 2.0-litre four-cylinder entry-level engine is said to be on the cards, while a 3.8-litre V6 could make up to top-spec model, producing around 248kW and 394Nm.

Full details will be revealed upon the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe's official unveiling, which is said to take place at the 2012 North American International Motor Show in Detroit in January.
