It dosent matter if porche bring out a car to bet it because it will still cost twice or more than the gtr.The gtr has given us our best chance ever to go super car fast on a bubget so many people can and will enjoy this car

That is quick.

Wonder what Porsche will bring out to beat that?

P.S. I get to see the GTR that won at the Mountain just about every week. My customer is the owner of it and it sits in his shed looking awesome.

Tranquilizer - unfortunately there are so many things wrong with what you just said. The car isn't an automatic, it uses a dual-clutch semi-automatic transmission - see Wikipedia .

There are now several dual clutch transmissions on the market and the Nissan GTR is just one of the cars that uses one. It is one of the reasons why it is so fast around the Nurburgring - faster shift times with virtually no let up in acceleration. A comparison was recently done between a traditional manual (BMW 335i), a ZF 6 speed automatic (Jaguar XKR), automated-clutch manual (Ferrari 599), and a dual clutch transmission (GTR). The Auto and the DCT both have minimal loss of acceleration, while even with quick shifts (lightning fast in the 599) both "manuals" (traditional and automated-clutch) had a noticeable pause in acceleration. This also means your head will get slightly tossed forward when you upshift. In the auto or DCT cars the acceleration is much smoother and more linear. This advantage every time you change gear is multiplied around the Nurburgring with its 21km length.

The driver has paddles behind the steering wheel, so you won't see him move the lever on the centre console. This is one of the other reasons why you can be so fast in a car with this transmission as opposed to a conventional manual; you don't have to take your hands off the wheel.

No, its a dsg, not an auto. A manual would be far slower

And debate still rages if this was faked with an aftermarket version, correct timing placement, and if it was running street tires.

I'd like to see an independent tester try and run this time.

you can really see the benefit of the dsg gearbox with paddle shifters in this clip. the drivers hands never leave the wheel and the shifts are so quick and seemless

Awsome - clever camera mount as well. He was really shifting towards the end as well. How long will they hold the trophy. Not long methinks.
