Volkswagen EV single-seat concept to debut at Frankfurt show

Volkswagen will unveil a modern Volkswagen EV single-seater concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany next month. The compact concept is said to be capable of an equivalent fuel consumption rating of 0.75L/100km.

It's unknown what the concept will be called exactly, but reports say the concept will be used as a demonstration tool to show Volkswagen is thinking of the future and is committed to developing sustainable energy transport.

Since the concept will only be able to accommodate one person, the overall size and thus the weight of the fully electric vehicle will facilitate incredible economy figures. International reports say emissions will be rated below 24g of CO2/km, while consumption will be the equivalent of just 750ml/100km.

It's unknown what the new concept will look like at this stage. Since it is going to be very compact it may take on a similar design approach to the Audi Urban Concept two-seater.

We'll keep you updated with full coverage of the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in the coming weeks, as well as the new Volkswagen concept unveiling, which will apparently take place a little early, on September 8. Stay tuned.
