Update: Read our Review of the Peugeot 308 CC
After the introduction of the 308 hatchback earlier this year, Peugeot is now going full throttle on the development of the 308 CC, due to hit the showroom mid next year.

Our European photographers snapped prototypes of the future convertible undergoing high-speed testing on a racing circuit in France.

Like its predecessor, the new 308 CC will mimic the hatchback’s front-end design and will get a retractable hardtop that folds in two parts.
![]()
Overall length and width won’t differ much from the 3- and 5-door hatchback but credible rumours suggest the CC will be the world’s first car to be offered with a diesel hybrid.

All conventional engines offered for the hatchback, however, will be available for the topless car, too.

Its very hard to tell from these pictures what the car actually looks like so why post them ?
Cheers !
Given what the 307 CC looked like, this disguise probably looks better than what is under it.
There are five very good photos of the car from almost every angle along with some notes from the person who shoots spy shots for a living.
My only advice Lightbulb, use your imagination!! If they showed too much, they wouldn’t be spy shots, now would they?
Another car with a rain coat, must be specifically developed for the UK.
GREAT diesel hybrid peugeot drop top. the ultimate trendy yuppi car.
Hey lightbulb, the first picture shows that Peugeot is sticking with their whale mouth front end that is in use currently. The other shots show the overall proportions quite well.
A diesel hybrid, I was wondering when they would start appearing. Makes so much more sense than a petrol hybrid. The diesel torque allows a much larger generator which translates into less run time for the same amount of charge. Less fuel used.
I wonder if Peugeot will make it a plug in hybrid. I hope so.
I can’t wait for the diesel hybrid. I hope they use lithium ion batteries.
In my imagination it looks great under that burka, a little like the RCZ.
I am not sure, but judging from the pictures, it looks a bit like a tent with wheels. Do you think the final tent on wheels version might come in another colour.
Suns out here Phill. Is it that ugly that you have to cover it up. I’d prefer a rag top to a tin top personally.
It actually looks good. Not like a tent on wheels, Coz. If you want pictures, go to http://www.autoviewpoint.com and search Peugeot. It’s in there somewhere. And it is better than the 308 hatchback.
