They’re exactly the same because the body shape is iconic. It’s as recognised as Kleenex is to tissues, Hoover is to vacuums and Toyota is to boring lumps of hollow alloy with wheels.

The moment they change that, I bet you’ll be the first to say “pfft, that’s not a real Porsche.”

The changes they make are subtle differences over the years.

I do like Porsche’s, I do, they’re what I dreamt of having as a kid, but..I dunno, can someone explain why they’re still exactly the same after all this time?

Or am I just not Porsche-savvy enough to see it?

Why are we debating Apples?
its silly and besides the point.

I love apple computers and would never ever use a PC except for spreadsheets and other microsoft apps.

But thats me and I dont really care what everyone else does and its pointles to argue.
I must say tho, that I am yet to meet someone that goes from PC to MAC and then back again

In terms of this Porsche.
I love it. Looks the same as the older one but thats why I love it.

And thats probably a reason to why the resell value is so high ; a used 911 looks pretty much the same as a new one.

A timeless classic. Not only a looker, but one of the most well engineered cars on the planet. Clinical german engineering, without too much passion or flair. 911, or Audi R8? I wish i had enough spare cash to make that decision!

Nowadays Apple computers are the same price as any other brand, in some cases cheaper even. More importantly they all run windows and the same intel chips, exactly the same as any other computer would. So “technically minded” people that wish to screw around with Vista’s compatability problems can also do that if they so wish.

As with Porsche well, yeh, as everyone has said, it still looks great, and is still a great car. If i was in the market for a $200 000+ car, I’d definately get one.

porsche resale would be so great cause you cant tell the difference from an old one to a new one maybe??

hey realcars your right, all those porsche drivers are stupid, they could have saved tons and bought a toyota that had 4 seats rather than porsches 2 seats for much less, or better yet a daewoo (cough, holden) for even less and still had 4 seats. some people are just silly arent they!

but seriously your right, when i got my apple it didnt even have a tower or all those cables, it didnt have all those piles of manuals and installation cds, it didnt take hours to setup and its OS didnt come loaded with bugs and viruses. It was just a massive screen and it worked when i pushed the power button….. i feel like im missing out on all that other stuff. do you think if i ask for my money back they might give it to me???

I agree with RealCars on apples, only thing good about it is its multimedia capabilities, otherwise its good for people who are not so technical minded…

Profit margins for Porsche must be enormous given that the tooling on the production lines may not differ very much from year to year.

It’s a timeless design that works on all counts although, Alborz and I, saw a Black 911 Turbo last week, and decided that was the hero car for Porsche.

Agree with Booter, apple and porsche, no way have the same business model, and yes apple sell to the masses.

Great fuel economy, but with the money spent on these cars and expected to fetch from it through the price it sells, its no suprise this should be capable in this day and age.

But overall, its good to witness power and economy can happen! I think all manufacturers can do this, and mimic or better it but the REAL CHALLENGE they’ll face is keeping build costs down to make it feasible to the market they sell to.

porsche and apple the same??, supercujo you just have no idea do you. porsche just keep doing the same thing over and over (albeit its really good) and apple keep producing completely new products and reinventing their market place. these 2 companies are worlds apart in their approach to business.

oddball products? apple wins designs awards the world over. and a company that is worth over 100 billion is hardly niche.

but your right about apple fanboys, just look at how annoyed i am ;)
