Jaguar XFR-S Spy Photos

By Alborz Fallah |

Photos of what we suspect is an Jaguar XFR-S is a clear sign that Jaguar is serious about taking on its German rivals in all categories.

With the recent release of the Jaguar XKR-S, we believe the British company is expanding its portfolio of performance cars to take on the RS, M and AMG variants of its direct competitors.

Although not yet confirmed, our sources say this Jaguar XFR is actually a mule for the XFR-S version of the XF. It’s still without the bodykit that the XFR-S is likely to have, but the track looks slightly wider and it’s sporting the same wheels as the XKR-S already.

It’s also suspiciously testing together with the XKR-S Convertible prototype and it sounds the business. Around Jaguar’s test center close to the Nürburgring there are plenty of XFRs being tested, yet none sound as good as this one.

The logical explanation is the inclusion of the S’ upgraded 5-litre supercharged engine with 404 kW and 680 Nm of torque.

Adrian Hallmark, Jaguars global brand director, has previously hinted that Jaguar are working on a project to transfer the XKR-S upgrades to the XFR as well.

When it comes to fruition, the XFR-S will take on the Audi RS6, the BMW M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG.

I thought the XFR already competed with the RS, AMG and M brigade from Deutschland; and quite well from most reports as well.

x 2 to that – the new headlights look fantastic – the front looks the way it should have from the beginning.

When is it going to be launched. 2014 or 2013? Some sites says that it is 2014 Jaguar XFR-S where as some says it is 2013 Jaguar XFR-S.

How could it take them that long to get it ready?
The base XF was launched in 2007, so if the XFR-S version comes in 2014, it’ll probably arrive just in time for the 7 year old XF to be replaced by a new model!
