Toyota has released a new limited edition Toyota RAV4 Altitude. Just 1500 examples will be made, each offering a range of extra features over the entry-level RAV4 CV 2WD and 4WD models.

Similar to the Toyota LandCruiser Altitude, the RAV4 Altitude showcases a string of added features over the standard model. It gets special 17-inch alloy wheels, silver painted details such as roof rails and front bumper bar trimmings, as well as the addition of fog lights and tinted rear windows.

The interior also gets a number of added features, such as a six-stack CD player with USB and Bluetooth compatibility, also with music streaming capabilities, as well as a premium steering wheel and gear knob.

Like all Toyota RAV4 models, the Altitude comes with electronic stability control (Vehicle Stability Control – VSC), ABS brakes, traction control and hill-start assist. Automatic transmission models also come with downhill assist control to help keep the vehicle stable during steep and slippery descents.

The Toyota RAV4 CV comes with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 125kW and 224Nm. The five-speed manual transmission versions offer a fuel consumption rating of 9.1L/100km, while the four-speed automatic models offer 9.6L/100km.

The Toyota RAV4 Altitude is available on both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive CV model. Prices start at $28,990 before on-road costs.

I bought a 2010 Version in manual for the misses to be honest they are not a bad car in stock form I did opt for the Airbags though as David stated only 2 in stock form but done 30thou ks now not a issue.

And I have taken it off road to some tracks and the beach and it does quiet well.

A joke. How old is this car? Should be pensioner off.

    • bert

Why pension off the original and best? Why what would you buy a chery J11?
Why not pension off all the would be new comers Rav still has the best resale value in class and toyota reliability HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A RAV BREAK DOWN??????

      • Golfschwein

Automatic transmissions have a bang-by date, don’t they, or was it the model before?

  • Torque

A great little machine apart from the tragic four speed auto behind the 4cyl, the manual trans/ final drive is way too over geared for any decent low speed work. The steering column shafts in some models were repaired upon request and at times can show up later as annoying steering knock out of warranty.
The V6 auto is the best RAV to buy.

A real limited edition would be defined as the latest 2.5-litre engine like in America and more than four gears in the auto. I’m just sick of these useless trim levels coming from a manufacturer that should know better.

  • V8

    How much does it weigh?

Some of these 4WD/SUV’s on the road that weigh in half a tonne more than an average family car, Real smart people!
All you are doing is wearing the road surface out and making more potholes which in turn comes out of you and everyones elses tax payer pocket later on. Stop copying the US and stick to normal cars,Safer for you and every other driver and will save you money. THINK!
Carbon tax nahhhh Large vehicle tax YESSSSSSSSS!

  • fixenator

@V8 – tool, the rav4 weighs just 25kg more than the Aurion, an average family car.

NO DIESEL EVER PROBABLY A HYBRID WILL COME IN 2013 ON THE RAV 4 …. ALL THEIR MODELS LIKE YARIS, HILUX, COROLLA, RAV4 ALL STAY AROUND FOR 8-9 YEARS AS TOYOTA VERY CONSERVATIVE JUST HOW IT IS … KEY IS BUY IN EARLY ON RELEASE SO UR CAR STILL LOOKS CURRENT FOR 8 YEARS.

  • Geoff Ellis
