As Wheelnut said they have a number of plant duplicating what other plants do in other states. The type of vehicles that they produce, large SUV's get only 8 MPG. Compared to a Honda or Toyota (6cylinder) around 25-32 MPG. The V8 G8 GT gets around 15MPG. Alot of waste in GM plants in the US. GM is simply shedding some of its less profitable ventures, as I'm sure all businesses will do from time to time, even Toyota. But GM is in trouble though, the VW group is slowly eating away at their sales as is the rest of the worlds car manufacturer's.
