No idea what your going on about, I’m not a fan of FWD Toyotas, nor would I would buy lexus no matter how good it was… I like my brands to have a history of innovation, not immitations like Lexus…
But you got to agree a lexus is one of the best built cars around….

Even better than Toyotas incredible engineering while making excuses for cost. How bloody lame are u guys getting excited about this crap. Just buy an Aurion. So what if it is a bit noisier inside and is FWD.

Anyone would think they are going to put a Lexus on Mars with such hallowed tones of worship emanating from the collective orifices on this blog.

Lexus makes some mighty fine motor cars. They are well priced (compared to Euro), the IS being the nicest in the range. Can’t wait for the IS-F, really really nice!!

My friend has had a LX470. Huge 4wd with luxury galore. Bloody nice ride as well.

I’ve driven the RX350, sporty ride, zippy but regulated performance.

Ive been an advocate and fan of engineering from Lexus, trust I when I say, the best engineers in Japan and Europe (ex mercedes/bmw/audi) are recruited to Lexus. Ive seen how they test Toyota vehicles during design stages…Lexus have about twice as much intricacy in their evaluations. Also there are no cost cut budgetting when it comes to Lexus’s in general, or atleast its not a big deal to propose expensive parts and technology, as they are premiumly priced, as opposed to Toyotas, which must use the best parts for the price…. quality is still there, but obviously with entry base toyota models, you see how “stripped” they are in comparison to the stacked models… Lexus in the other hand dont hold back….

the lexus IS250 is easily the best car Lexus has made.. like ever! Priced against the 320i BMW and C200 Mercedes it makes a pretty damn good argument for itself given the BMW and Mercedes is only 4 cyl, although the merc atleast comes supercharged. My only real problem with Lexus in the past has been their tendency to make luxo barges rather then genuinely good premium cars, but they are starting to get seriously good now!

Yes, the IS350 is such a GUN price over here, its priced 2K more than the IS250… here in the states.

I wish Oz will get it, I feel as nice as the IS250 is, its under powered for such a heavy car.

The IS350’s ~230kW output would basically make it the almost the best car in the market…. in the states its pretty damn good at that price range and performance.

In Oz, prolly 15k~20k more than the IS250.. which is ridiculous, but if you know what your doing then implant the 3.5 liter engine yourself :-p

not recommend though, its not a tuner car… obviously…

Would love to see the IS350 down under as it will give the local lads at Lexus a great lineup of great cars. The IS also comes with a diesel version in Europe called the IS220d and yes, an AWD version in the States. Lexus make wham-bam cars of the best but just wish Australia enjoyed the full Lexus compliment. Carn’t wait for the IS-F and hope it races in Targa Tassie next year, will be great i reckon.
