I have a Ssangong and its a Bom .

They wont even fix it as it has now been back 14 time to be fixed and as it is now out of Warranty they say that the proble is not great enought to fix .

But it has a surge in it and it shakes like it drops a cylender at lights .

I just bought one. I reckon they look great. Not as good as an old Inter, but for $25,000, it’s just what I want.
Except for the gay-bo European controls which are gonna be a pain in the rear. Every time you try to use the blinkers, you put the wipers on. How the hell does this meet ADR’s? We’re Aussie, not Europeans, and we drive on the LHS.
I thought ADR’s were meant to give us standardization.
What a crock.

well i’m an auto sparky. and i have looked at this car personally. do not buy them.. but looks are better then most others out there. this car is sexy.

Please do not buy this vehicle, there’s a reason people buy Toyota, it’s because they’ve earned Australia’s trust. You’d be mad to do the same with this mob.

Most of you obviously haven’t driven one of these yet. It’s a dream. I used to own a Mazda Bravo, cost me a fortune is suspension upgrades, engine rebuilds etc. Then I stayed stupid and bought a Ford Falcon. Still cost me money in diffsetc. Then I grew half a brain and saw all these utes with the design risk eqivalent to the inventor of the square and a price tag worthy of a sports car and decided to take a risk, the Ssangyong Actyon Sports 2007. Bought it 2nd hand so I minimised the risk. Had to beef rear suspension at Pedders a bit but no major drama. This ute is a dream. Look all the same in your boxes for all I care I spent 10K less than the rest of you in a ute that delivers. How about that Colorado rubbish 3.0l turbo diesel that is about as efficient as a 10 yr old Musso, my mate paid 45K for that crap.

Realcars, the 2wd Tradie model is only 4k cheaper than a 2wd diesel Trition dualcab. Anybody with half a clue would see this as far better value and not quite as ugly.

They should have done what LG did and come up with a name that has no Korean connotations. That way the product proves itself and people soon forget were it is made.

Stupid marketing name SsangYong = WTF? + FUGLY ute = MEGA Poor resale.
Most tradies could spell SsangYong and anyone dopey enough to buy one wouldn’t be worth dealing with.
I like to see how a ‘Roo fits through the front gap at 120, quite well i would expect. Except your kness would be busted up when the motor punches back through the firewall.

FYI SsangYong have sold 630 vehicles in Australia so far this year including more than 220 of these in various configurations.
Engines in SsangYong’s are all M-B based and auto is an Australian made six-speed!

If u can live with the front end styling and it is economical and reliable a self employed tradie could keep this for five years or till it stops and the trade valuation wouldn’t matter that much given it is 10k cheaper than other diesel dual cabs.

mmm… poverty pack ssangyong. Sure to leave a bad taste in the mouth come trade in time when most dealers wont even want to offer a price for it, and when they do, you’ll wish yoh bought a Ranger, or Hilux, or Triton ect ect ect!
