Holden Opel Astra Spy Photos
The new Opel Astra is out and about once again undergoing weather testing. Despite the car’s irritating disguise, the new profile, the front fascia and the massive rear bumper with the parted taillights are still visible.

For the first time, we’ve also got a picture of the interior.

While we can’t say anything to the shape of the three-door model yet, the five-door version will again get the current model’s sloping roof line plus the trapezoidal-shaped c-post. All in all, however, the new car looks somewhat sleeker and yet more elegant.

Apart from the five-door Opel has an estate (“Caravan”), a convertible (“Twin Top”) and the 3-door (“GTC”) in the pipeline, all following the 5-doors introduction one by one.

EscortGhia…
I agree, the basic shape and proportions aren’t too disimiliar to the current attractive shape.
i’ve driven the current astra hatch and coupe many times and find them to be an enjoyable drive.

It looks a little boring, but I guess I need to wait until they slip off those pajamas and I can see the finished product in the nude.

what the hell are you on about frugal one? stop spamming up all the threads
PoinsonEagle - yes it does have IRS, its build off an entirely new platform so it won’t share very much at all with the current model.
Style wise, it appears to be a curvier version of the current one, which itself was a curvier version of the model before! Opel must be following a similar path here to VW with the golf. The only thing i hope with the new one is that they finally have the reliability drama’s sorted out! I know those problems have prevented plenty of owners upgrading to the newer version (myself included, i had an ‘02 version which i replaced with a lancer due to the poor reliability of the astra)
