2012 Honda Civic

Honda’s ninth generation Civic hatch will be revealed at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The Honda Civic has been a huge success for the Japanese carmaker with over 20 million sold globally since the first car rolled off the line in 1972.

Honda says that the new Civic is more confident, clever and versatile, with standout looks and class leading space for passengers and luggage.

Over the years Honda has developed a well-earned reputation for quality and reliability, and the new Civic is said to be better in both respects, while offering the same low running costs and top-notch reliability.

Honda engineers are said to have devoted substantial effort to improving the ride and handling of the Civic and through changes to the suspension set-up, both comfort and body control have been enhanced.

The new Civic carries over the rear torsion beam system, but adds fluid filled compliance bushes for improved ride and handling. The beam itself has been strengthened for better body control when cornering, as well as providing greater stability at high speeds.

The new Civic has been designed and developed exclusively for Europe and will go on sale during 2012.
