Audi S8 Spy Photos

The upcoming Audi S8 has been spotted with no disguise in the last few days undergoing testing in the European Alps.

This is the first time we've seen photos showing the new Audi S8 out of camouflage. Like its rivals from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the S8 is meant to be as understated as possible, power and prestige without the need to boast.

For those that know their cars though, you can easily tell an A8 from an S8. For a start, the front bumper is looking more sporty then the standard A8.

The sound emitted from the S8's new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which has replaced the V10 found in its predecessor, will also be a dead giveaway. We expect the new force-fed engine to produce more power than before but also use less fuel, reports suggest fuel consumption may be down by as much as 20 percent over the previous model.

Power figures should be above 370kW but still remain unconfirmed. The new V8 powerplant is expected to make an appearance in the upcoming S6, S7 and potentially the new entry model Bentley Continental GT.

Other obvious changes to the Audi S8 that we can see from these photos include the bigger brakes and the all familiar four chromed exhaust pipes at the back.
