Hang on there Richo. The Honda Odyssey has not been sold in Europe since the original 1996 model which was a failure there. They’ve since had the Stream, and that was replaced by some strange thing called FCX or something with two rows of three-abreast seats which was far from successful. Yes, the compact-sized Picasso/Scenic category does well in Europe but this long-bonneted Subaru looks nothing like that class of vehicle.
Go back to the drawing board.

Captain Mainwaring – In europe smaller people movers like this are becoming more and more popular, the citroen picasso, renault scenic and honda oddessy are very popular cars. Ok there isn\’t much of a market for them here in Australia, but i think europe juuuuust might be a slightly more important market to subaru then australia!

Something odd looking about this, like the A pillars are too vertical for a modern car. If Subaru perceives that a significant market gap exists for something like this they have a pretty vivid imagination. Maybe it’s a reaction to the fact that they got it wrong with Tribeca.

Hi Flying and Jez, To me all but the bug eye looked pretty good for the times, and all models had the feel of un-refined differentiation. Once the propellor nose came along, the plot was lost. So no, I don’t want to live in the past and it is a new era in styling, but if so, some styling would be good and not just a mash of everyone elses stuff. If we wabt styling for today then Subie has to get away from cheap plastics, soft seats and smiley faces and look towards German / European brands that generate a stylish, quality feel. EG: look at C30 Volvo.

Doesnt look to bad to me, especially as far as people movers go. If they can update the impreza with some of these design hues instead of those awkward buldging curves i think itd be an improvement.
