BMW Efficient Dynamics TV ad

May 19, 2008 by Alborz Fallah

With manufacturers going into overdrive to emphasis their green credentials, BMW has come up with this clever ad showchasing what its new-generation of cars do to improve emissions.

The German powerhouse is currently working on a whole range of alternative fuel cars, ranging from hydrogen 7-series to electrics and hybrids.

awwwww,I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now .

  4. Craig says:

Thank you hill that depletes our battery when we ascend up your slopes.

Thank you wind and gravity, without out either of your resistances we would not need an engine or fuel in the first place.

  5. Baji says:

    haha nice one craig!

  6. Duck says:

    OK…………………..

  7. TP says:

Low friction? That means low grip. Interesting admission.

  8. Bavarian Missile says:

TP how on Earth do you get low friction means low grip??? I think you need to get a grip on what their saying !

  9. No Name says:

Ha Ha TP – what can I say,

Great stuff – from BMW following Toyota of course. Funnily enough I have just read that Fiat have overall the greenest range of cars on the planet with an average CO2 output of 138g/km. Eat you hearts out T/philes

  10. Bret says:

Actually TP, “low friction” means “low grip”, yep you are correct.
However I think that they have done a Japanese standard translation and actually mean “low rolling resistance”.

Yes TP is actaully right on this one – a low coefficient of friction will mean lower levels of grip, but you can have lower rolling resistance without sacrificing grip levels.

I’ve got a great idea – Maybe BMW could’ve just made an ad showing two fingers walking across the screen to sell their car instead of telling us about all the good things the car does, I think an ad with absolutely nothing to do with cars, or its technology, or anything remotely related to selling a car is heaps better than BMW’s offering !

Oh, yeah, that’s right, Ford took that idea already…

(I’m not still dirty that Ford did this, really, I’m not…)

  12. Andrew M says:

Toyota have been fitting dangerous, undersized and gripless skinny tyres for years now.
    nothing new here :)

  13. Alien says:

I’m sure Tp meant it as a mere joke… lets not get all emo now shall we? esp. you BM , been a while since I’ve read something from you – and thats been good, don’t ruin that feeling :)

  14. Bavarian Missile says:

Alien…………you obviously aren’t on this site much so don’t disappoint me and become a regular.

TP meant it as a joke………hahaha yep right!

  15. Bavarian Missile says:

Now I remember you Alien your a FWD supporter aren’t you ? As I mentioned before to you yep my son owns a supercharged Levin and still complains of the power through the front wheels is too much and high maintenance. He has stuck with his Skyline, just bought another actually! Wont go backwards to FWD or should I say forwards which in this case is backwards.hahaha

  16. Ivan says:

    Hahaha, anti-spam: BMWM3

Let’s just stick to the ad at the moment.

Compared to the Ford ad (fingers walking accross the scene), I think BWM has got a better one with this. Although, I still prefer the Holdan ad about the “heritage” and “every new holden must be a better one”.
Now that would make me consider to buy a holden.

Now I’m not a holden or ford supporter, as don’t watch V8 Supercars that much (prefer rally), I think BMW is going a bit overboard with this BS ad….
That didn’t make me want to buy any BMW at all. Perhaps I don’t really car about the environment and my carbon impact (i’m being very honest).

  17. Bavarian Missile says:

Yep agree with all you said Ivan………..

  18. Andrew M says:

    Ivan,
    agree aswell mate.

i think the holden ad going through heritege etc will sell cars.
they trying to implant a message in peoples heads, and my buck says it will work.

fords advert needs to talk to the audience a little more.
i think the music and fingers would be fine if they talked about the great new features, their dedication etc etc

more voice over during the ford adverts would be a great improvement

  19. Alien says:

Bm , your son obviously has no taste in his imports. If he were the slightest bit upto date, he’d know the JZX100 is a far better car , also JZX110 that recently got compliance approval.

Look them up, doubt you know them either. They’re the breed of RWD Toyotas that you never knew..

heres a lil performance figure 367nm@2400 revs.

skylines = a lil boy infront of the Jzx series. Knowing how foolishly narrow minded you are with your car brands etc I’d suggest you get with the times.

    wink wink

  20. F@ GTHO says:

i havent said anythin 4 ages
    so ill say…
