CarAdvice turns two!
Yes, it’s true! CarAdvice has turned two as of today. Two years ago CarAdvice.com.au went live as a small car blog to bring up to date news and information about the Australian car market, today it’s the largest independent car website in Australia* and the only site in the top 5 without classifieds.
Last month over 600,000** unique visitors visited our website, a little different to our first month, when we had only 2,500 visitors. There are nearly 3,000 articles on the site and over 55,000 comments.
In our two year journey we have put together a strong and capable team and have achieved some amazing things.
A big thanks to all of you who have helped us get to where we are today – we currently receive over 15,000 returning visitors each day. A big thanks also to our sponsors and of course, our hard working team consisting of Anthony Crawford, Paul Maric, George Skentzos, Matt Brogan, Karl Peskett and our latest member and new editor David Twomey.
David comes from a two year stint as the founding editor of the award winning business2business automotive print title Australian Business Auto. He has also been a deputy editor of Motor magazine, production editor of Unique Cars and worked on numerous other motoring titles. He was also the publisher and editor of SportsCar&Racer magazine and was involved in developing a number of automotive titles during his time with ACP magazines’ motoring division.
To celebrate our 2nd birthday, we have given the site a mid-life facelift! Two years down, many more years to come.

How about another competition to celebrate? Can we make suggestions? A car-advice track day with 10 mates and 10 cars of the winners choice? (within reason).
Vote:Anyway, good on you guys. The site is amazing and I hear all of the news here first. Thanks.
PS. Alborz, My Rx8 is still available anytime you need it.

Congratulations CarAdvice & keep up the great work! I’ve only been browsing this site for 6-12 months or so, and now find it virtually unnecessary to browse other car-related sites.
Happy Birthday :-)

Lets hope $$$ dont overtake ethics as this site is unreal….but still can “NOT” get my head around DINGO ripping into ALBORZ one time real nasty calling him a poofta editor or some drivel (and called everyone else same at that time when he had a beer attack) and DINGO was still on this website and continuing = NO REFEREE CONTROLLING THIS MONKEY!

Congratulations. Providing you don’t get swayed by the advertising $ (eg. that Proton review and the subsequent adverts !), you are looking good for the future.
Moderation on comments not required, just delete any comments that include more than one “*” in a row or include the word “PRIMO”.
Are you actually making money (or breaking even) ?

Keep stories coming, heaps of reviews and also on Computer Generated Images / future cars expected / more comparos. And do exactly same as uptil now……………then it “MUST” grow.
The rest of the websites fairdinkum are stale, boring and regimental old hat and not as wide story based as you guys. Stay in hunt and stay ib huge mix and only way is “UP BABY”………….Congrats hey!

Happy Birthday car advice!!!
Can you please do a story on alternative fuel vehicles?
We all know oil is running out. What will we be driving in 10, 20 or 30 years?
Cheers!

I think WEBSITE seriously needs veyron taken off at top. I would put Torana 05 with Peter Brock on one side and on other side 1-2 Finish of Hardie Ferodo 1000 of 1978 of Colin Bond and Alan Moffat. Centre banner so equal sized photos both sides. Remember CARADVICE….your roots are downunder and keep it Aussie as to be blunt Veyron pic looks bizarre as “POOR” image as too tonka toy (as of carbon fibre bonnet) and glossy!

Big congrats guys, nicely done. Here’s to an even better two years to come…
NM makes an interesting point – we have an awesome history of great, sometimes unusual and often very quick cars in Australia, so it would be great to see some old muscle (Monaros, Toranas, Falcons and Chargers) and Aussie racing heritage (as NM mentioned) as well as the international stuff. That said, the site still looks professional and the content is fantastic, so I don’t mind ogling a Veyron every time I log on!
