We own a Prius and will never NEVER look back. Love, love, love it – efficient as all hell, roomy, comfortable.
When the hydrogen prototypes finally appear, we will probably move on but at LEAST we are not guzzling petrol.

Some of us are making do with what we are able – how many of you have energy saver lightbulbs? Ever wondered how to recycle them? You should. They are totally poisonous!

I just bought a 2008 Prius two weeks ago & don’t understand people’s attitude about it. Mine is definitely getting better mileage than anything quoted here. I could care less about all the posturing & argument, I know driving home for Chistmas & back and filling up for $12+ for 500 miles of driving seems fine with me. If it works for you, go for it & if it doesn’t WHY does it matter?

I did notice appx one out of ten vehicles I met were of small/mid size and “economy” minded. I’m not really into pushing my mentality or vehicle for others let alone try to force my ideas/likes/dislikes on them, but if this vehicle is as reliable as they say, I’m going to like it.

I happen to be one of those that does not let my vehicle define who & what I am. It is a way to get from point A to point B. I know who & what I am. I do have a 4wd pu for use on my small rural home & primarily use it to pull stock trailers or flatbeds with tractor.

So many of the predominant society seems compelled to always be AGAINST something rather than ever standing for something. Me, I like to get from point a to point b as reasonably as I can, factor in a little comfort & safety & life is good.

Bavarian – cut the hoo haa drama queen act !!

You have heavily critised Toyota’s involvemnt in developing hybrid technology but you have not passed the same critism towards tour PRECIOUS BMW.

Remember your arguement against batteries, mining of material to make batteries, disposal of batteries and so forth – will be no different with BMW so why haven’t you critised them for following suit.

My point made … it is not really hybrid tech you have a problem with – it’s Toyota !!

You thought BMW had been doing them already and I provided you evidence they haven’t and all you can come back with is me being a hypocrite??? why…. i honestly havent found the telecast to be that bad.

we usually get telecast shortly after midday here on saturday and sunday.

and so what if they show the porsche’s twice (i havent noticed that).
showing the carrera cup twice isnt a black mark on the V8 telecast

Bavarian – You have critized Toyota heavily for investing in Hybrid Technology but now that BMW (and many other manufactuers) has decided to follow suit … you have not critized them.

WHY NOT !!

Is it because it is your PRECIOUS BMW so Hybrid Technology is now OK … mmm !!
