MiTo and 8C, Alfa’s hot new twins

May 13, 2008 by George Skentzos

The Alfa Romeo MiTo has joined its big brother the 8C Competizione for a striking family portrait.

They may come from totally different worlds – one is an ultra-exclusive supercar, the other a mainstream hatchback – but the resemblance between the pair is uncanny, a fact Alfa Romeo is only too eager to show-off.

The interior layout featured in the newly released gallery are actually that of the new MiTo – a far cry from the usual drab and dreary grey interior of most hatchbacks.

The MiTo shares its underpinnings with another good looking Italian, the Fiat Grand Punto as well as (believe it or not) GM’s Opel Corsa.

Still no word yet on Australian-specific details, however rest assured CarAdvice will keep you informed as they become available.

I think theyre onto a winner here. Interesting design because I feel that they are taking a step to the side in design because its simply as good looking but in a different way as the current range.

  2. Jimbo says:

Cool, one for me and one for the wife.

  3. D 1 0 N says:

Two of the most beautiful cars in their respective markets. I hope this is a sign of the new design Alfa will take on for future models

  4. SteveC says:

    Indeed.

Alfa is on my “What new car will I buy next” list. These look horny.

Mmmm the power of photography. I’m sure they do really look good but until I see one without all the subtle lighting i’ll remain a pessimist.

Should have a good diesel in them though with Fiats 150Kw twin turbo 2.0litre. In the little one.

  7. Crummydore says:

When I was younger I always wanted a Sud, however the cost of rust repairs put the dream to a halt.

Now I am older and in the position to look at a new car, this new little MiTo is bringing back them old feelings…. reckon Alfa’s on a winner here, no rust too!

  8. Ben2009 says:

i ssaw 1 today, and test drove it…simply sensational in everyway…such a lovely car to look at, inside and out.
