We’re not sure who the source of this picture is, however it’s not a bad effort. Certainly sportier than the current wagon range, this blue example takes on the swooping, coupe-like shape first seen in the Chrysler 300C, and then the new Holden Commodore Sportwagon.

How accurate do you think this is? Is this the way a new FG wagon could go?

That looks pretty good, but is the loss of the fleet and taxi sales because of the load area shrinkage worth it?

I don’t think this is too accurate, something between this and the old wagon would be more likely. Have a look at the Mondeo Wagon to get a better idea.

Well, that looks excellent! But they are clearly not Falcon door skins. This car has a rising swage line on the upper section of the door skins, whereas the FG’s have a sharper ridge and run straight through, parallel with the window belt line.

Either a Sportwagon or a current Audi provided the bones of this CGI, I’d say.

      Cart Springs n all.

Not a bad effort. Too much of a dip in the rear roofline to make it a truly practicle estate sorry ‘wagon’. But then most seem to want style over substance nowadays. Rear lights do not seem big enough.

Now lets look at what Toyota do in this range…ah nothing.

this wagon is just asking to be dropped on some hotrod foose style wheels. tinted windows and it would look perfect.

I have heard that there will be no FG Wagon so its pointless even worrying about what it will look like. Most likely they will just keep updating the BF wagon until a decision is made on the future of the next Falcon and whether its still a Aussie made car.

    6. Vote -1 Vote +1Mick
      says:

It’s just an A4 or A6 wagon roof chopped onto a Falcon.

    7. Vote -1 Vote +1ScottB
      says:

Ford have already made it quite clear that there will be NO FG wagon. Instead there will simply be an upgrade of the existing BF wagon, that’s all. Ford have stated that this is only to keep the fleet market ticking over – private buyers are picking up the Territory instead.

So you can render as many speculations as you like but at the end of the day that is not what the Falcon wagon is going to look like. End of story.

Pity Ford have already confirmed that they will not be doing a new wagon, they did this some time ago. It was that decision alone that made holden decide to go ahead with a VE wagon, knowing that they wouldn’t have a competitor, otherwise holden wouldn’t have done a wagon either, just not a market for them anymore. It looks great, but sadly it will never be

I can see Holden is gonna get alot of sales with the VE Sportswagon now! With no equal competition! I can see Holden in it (the picture)! :)

I agree with others here, nice piccy, but won’t eventuate. Ford did not develope a LWB FG remember, and a SWB just won’t have a space advantage over the Mondeo (which for families may just be a better choice than the commodore).

    13. Vote -1 Vote +1Phillip
      says:

There is no reason for Ford to build this car. If they were to build a new Falcon wagon, they would need to make it at least the same size as the BF to keep the necessary fleet sales. Although they could reshape the rear windows and roof to make it appear smaller than it is, it is never going to be an attractive car.

Ford have the Mondeo if they want a large stylish wagon. Sure, it’s not as roomy as the Commodore Sportwagon, but it is bigger than the Mazda 6 and much bigger than the Liberty. Plus it is available with a diesel engine. This is the direction Ford Oz should take.

Is the mondeo wagon luggage space bigger than the mazda 6 and/or subby liberty? Never knew it was that big!

      says:

Ford are trying to make an Egas Territory for the fleet market, and once this is done, they will drop the wagon all together. Not a bad move I say, but Id like to see the Territory more aligned with the Falcon, ie have XT, G6, G6E and G6ETurbo……

If you want a wagon with room, get a volvo. Which ironically enough, was the spam word.

I think that looks a damn sight better than most wagons on the road.

It’s not bad, definitely an improvement of the ugly BA-BF wagon, but the Holden Sportwagon looks a bit better.

Agreed on the Volvo, their wagon looks pretty good actually.

    19. Vote -1 Vote +1Phillip
      says:

Yes Duck the Mondeo is bigger than those two. I think it has about 50 more litres of space than the Mazda, and much more than the Subaru which is actually much smaller inside than it looks.

    20. Vote -1 Vote +1SP
      says:

The Mazda 6 wagon beats the the Volvo in every apsect. Drives better, looks better, is bigger and is 15 grand less for the same specs.

      says:

That Territory excuse is a joke. Station wagons and SUVs are not the same. Ask anyone who has a falcon wagon and I bet their next car aint gonna be a territory.

^It may be a silly move SP, your right! (well have to wait and see if it happens though).

But remember VOLVO wagons may be a good wagon but not for the price. Some people would prefer a cheaper wagon.

Exactly right,it was taken from fordforums and was posted in the FG Chopped pictures thread, was def made from the Audi Wagon and just added font and rear from the FG and made to blend it in.

      says:

If Ford does a Falcon wagon, it makes far more sense going the lifestyle route to differentiate it. If buyers want space, they should opt for the Mondeo, which is larger dimensionally (width, wheelbase) and more fuel efficient with the smaller engines.

This looks great rear lights could be bigger.

A G series wagon would look good to, ford do need a fg wagon to service Telstra and Energex, those soughts of things, or holden will steal all the customers.

we are a bf wagon owners which had to change it to a xr6 wagon soon to be xr8 wagon as ford does not to them. It good to hear that ford are listerning to their customers that they would like a sporty wagon. we have been told by ford dealershipers have adviced us to go to holdern if we wont a sporty wagon. But that is no good as it doeant came out untill August. We have been told by ford dealerships that if we put a v8 in the wagon they will not service the vehicle. we are going to killing a gt to put all the gear into put in the wagon.

      says:

Mark, there will not be a sporty Falcon wagon in the near future, if at all. Ford has chosen to service the tradies by making mechanical updates and some minor styling updates to the current BFII wagon and calling it a BF MKIII.

The Territory is still doing quite well considering its age, but needs a major facelift. It’ll receive the development money to compete in the “SUV” (I still hate that acronym) bracket, while Holden has chosen the Sportswagon route after the failure of the Adventura.

If you want a hot sporty wagon go Commodore Sportswagon, for a tough hauler, get the BFIII wagon. Performance SUV/wagon you have the choice of FPV F6X Territory (Typhoon engine) or HSV Tourer (Clubsport Sportswagon).

But, unfortunately, you will not see an XR wagon from Ford anytime soon.

ford already know that 95% of their wagons or something like that go straight to fleet.

the other 5% are the minority, and sorry to say it, ford aint going to revise their wagon for that pittiful amount of private sales.
but i suppose it could be a “catch 22″. design a stunning looking wagon and perhaps the private sector may flock to it.
but then im sure they have summed up how many people shop in the wagon segment and decided that there wasnt enough shoppers to justify having a stab at it aswell.

holden may be happy for ford to stay out of the private wagon sales, but im sure ford are even happier that holden pulled its “1 Tonner” line up

    40. I reckon its a good pic, I have 3 cars now and if ford brought out a sleek wagon like this i might go for it, the last wagon i had was an XA back when i was 18. Oh and I still. dont like Loyd Port-Lewis or gary samuel of the west australian.

    41. The reason i dont like it is because whilst i was visiting The united kingdom of england land,Loyd and gary claimed on a british auto show claimed that people who commented on these site had nothing better to do. In My humble opinion this IS THE BEST car site online

I guess the BF looks a little dated, but it is cheaper, bigger, more powerfull and more reliable that the commy wagon. I bought one and love it for its total practicallity and top steering. Forg got it right, so why increase the cost just for styling sake.

I hopw this is CGI, it looks rubbish. I hope the rumours of there being no new wagon are false, long live the big aussie family wagon.

And if they do bring one out, lets hope it nt a “sports wagon” look alike. If so, ill be keeping my BF for a long time….

I really like that wagon. The two things I don’t like are the tail lights and the exhaust tip. I believe that the tailpipe on the Ford Falcon is ageing and Ford should probably go for the quad exhaust like on the Holden V8s.

I own a 2006 BFII Fairmont Ghia, 5.4L, much better car than any current FG. This new Ford wagon looks very ugly in the rear, Holden looks much better, besides me bein a Ford girl, i still like Holdens rear end on its wagon models and Fords BA-BF Falcons, better cars than current ugly crappy FG.
