For this kind of money I would have a Nissan Dualis as my practical car,A Small Audi for work purposes give myself a handful of cruises in the south pacific and another one in a lifetime trip to Europe and put the rest of the money in the bank.

RJ, I think it's awesome you can afford to buy these cars that right now, I personally can only dream of. Obviously, it is up to you, if you're willing to spend this much money on an Australian built car, that's fine, I guess it shows patriotism. My point, a point coming from someone who has never seen Holden as any kind of luxury/sports car, is that; that much money could be spent better on a different type of car, which you obviously don't agree with, but thats cool. Everyones different. Dont you ever think, though, that 168K is a lot of money to spend on a Holden? Obviously, I havent driven any of the new SS commodores or HSV's, but what do you think? No one here has said anything practical, about how they go/handle, so tell us, what makes them worth 168K?

reading many of your comments here you have confirmed the green eyed jealous monster is alive and very well....guys like me who can afford the W 427 and other cars in this price range just don't care what you think, you see thats what money does because we can afford to enjoy these toys and then move on to the next one, I've had a new AU and a new GTP and a new clubsport R8 and GTS and presently own the rarest HSV built, on the other side of our garage is my wifes BMW M5 and she had a GTR before that.....

I can only deal with the facts after having owned many cars Holdens and Fords and some classy euro stuff, the funniest thing that ever happened to me was driving into a V8 supercar meeting in my brand new GTS and having the Ford fans yelling abuse at my boys and I, my 8 year old son yelled back "we have GTP in our garage at home you idiots"

I just love having enough money to have what ever toys I want....I am considering buying the W427 cause I can afford to, or I may import a Shelby 500 which I drove the other day, for what it's worth it didn't handle as well as my GTS...and most people in the business say I know what I'm talking about, but I sure like the look of the Mustang so who knows what I'll do..........

Now I know some smart ass will pitch in here.....I'm expecting this, but while your are doing so I'm probably out having fun in my toys.....I know where I'd rather be....drive safely RJ

My beloved Fords? Did I say that I a)drive a ford, b)like fords, or c) LOVE fords?

I wouldn't buy either. They're both the bottom of the barrel.

But out of the two, Ford ARE better. They're classier, smarter, better looking, and don't end up in the hands of a Bundy rum drinking, flanno wearing, mullet-sporting gimp a year after you pay 168K for it! The depreciation is ridiculous.

As long as it'll last 2 years with taxi stickers all over it, Holden is happy.

If you buy this car, or even consider it, you have rocks in your head. 168K?!?!? FOR A HOLDEN??? That breaks down half way to your house. I dont care how big they say the engine is, that in NO way justifies THAT much money for a piece of junk!

My god...does anyone realise the kinds of cars you could get for that much money? For example, the 2008 M3. A German luxury/sports powerhouse. The 2008 Maserati Gransport, a little more than 168K, but it's a bloody Maserati!

Holden only make cars for taxis. They only have to last 2 years, they're disposable. Maybe the new ones are different, but it's unlikely.
