I myself own a "93' 240sx", and did a S13 front end conversion from Japan on my car, added 5Zigen FNOR-C Wheels, and Skyline seats just to get the car started to the way I like it.

I haven't even started on the engine Swap to get an SR20DET in there.

Long story short, I've done quite a bit to my car already, and haven't even hit the tip of the iceberg of what I can do with this car, and I realize that this car is becoming a bit of a money pit.

I really wish "Canada" and North America in general had gotten our S13, S14 right the first time(none of this KA-DE "BS"), And I wish we even had the opportunity to get the S15 here.

We got to do so much on our 240sx's like get front end conversions, Engine Swaps, turbo add-ons, and even have to wait "15 damn Years" to import the model year we like, just to get our cars to what Japan has had for years.

Now for the 1st time, like the new GT-R, in 2010 we might be able to get to buy to S16 model "Here and Now" at the same time as Japan, and the rest of the world.

I think this is a great thing. We can get it right out of the dealership in our own backyard, and not have to do any modifications to it other than add our own little "Fuzzy Dice" on the rear view mirror.

So the concept pictures may not do it a lot of justice compared to the S15(a thing of beauty). I've see other photos of it in red, with a better headlight, front grill layout that makes it look 100% better.

If it's gonna look like that, I'll buy that car versus having to wait "!5 years" to try to import a S15 from Japan. Why bother with the hassel.

I don't think Nissan gonna let us down, so don't hate the "Concept Art" till the Silvia becomes reality.

If the 2010 Silvia S16 looks hot, and rides like a bullit, I'll give away my 93' 240sx/Silvia.

Any takers???

wait.. I thought in the US domestic market the Japanese Silvia cars were called 240SX, not 200SX (the 200SX reminded me more of the Sentra. And would that mean this would be the S16 Silvia since it's following the older ones in the number line up? Kinda like the whole RX post here too. RX9 and Silvia S16 would go well. And on the 350Z platform it'll be rear wheel drive instead of being converted to front wheel drive like so many are doing these days. Drifters rejoice!

To be honest, I don't really think it's that bad. Nissan has to think about the majority of the people who will be buying this car. Most will prefer the more elegant and modern shape.

I love Nissan’s 200SX and have never brought anything other car than a Nissan.

I own a pulsar and a S15. No car company is perfect and Nissan is far from it……Why did they change the ever so popular pulsar to the crappy Tiida??, anyway that’s not the issue. I agree with most peoples comments about the newly speculated computer generated Silvia, it sucks s%@t!!! Normally when a next generation model comes out it is expected to look better than the previous? Well if Nissan makes anything like the picture above than it defiantly be a big step backwards, even the 180SX looks better.

I really hope Nissan go through the net and read comments like the ones on this site by people who really care about the Silvia.

Just make something that resembles the last one; just keep it lower, wider, nice interior and more power with a turbo…..you can't go wrong

I hope this gets to Nissan people!

JapanCarBlog.com... this is just only an internet rumour... Nissan have no intentions in re-releasing the 200sx and if they were to re-release it... 200sx will not be available in australia just like the Tiida S-tune will not be available in australia.

Jamison... Nissan will never re-release the SR20DET as there is the current MR20DE which is much better then the SR20DE in terms of engine quality but again i doubt that Nissan would release the 200sx

Ivan... Unfortunately Australia for the last 10 years have been getting lowsy engies with less kw

That's right....the front looks like a tiida!!!
I'll say no more about the looks.

My worry is just the price. I hope it'll be low enough to compete with the new AE86 coming up around the same time.

Also, I seriously hope that in Aus we won't get the lousy engine version of the Japenese counterpart (less kW).

The S15 is a fine sports car, looks to performance.. the works..

Now... this "concept art", the rear angle view looks good. I can only imagine the profile side view and it'll look even better.

The front styling is too "strong"... which means its either offensive or "nice" to some....

And Nissan are just crazy when it comes to coupes and sporty models.. thats a good thing..

I think, the new 370Z is going to be bumped up in terms of cost and this can slide in just a tad lower that of the 370... cost maybe just a tad lower than the 370R also.

Question is... 2.0 liter turbo charged new gen of SRDET20?
or will new emission and fuel-related regulations push Nissan to make a NA variant... maybe 125~130kW instead of the 147kW~185kW (Oz~Japan spec) output...

Again, this is more likely just a concept art...
Its quiet easy to make models using computers and Rhino/CATIA etc. Most companies are actually abandoning "prototype" builds... except for showing off... a lot are opting for digitial models that are rendered enough that you cannot tell the difference between "cgi" or actual..... hence why so many "concept" arts are all over the internet.

Given that these are nothing more than rumours about its existence, it seems pointless to whinge about the looks of a mockup.
I think there is definitely room for news cars to recapture the Japanese sports car golden era. The 350Z is a nice enough car but it really doesn't have the hero values of the Silvia's or Skyline's of old.
The 350Z is a soft coupe for chubby middle aged men who find an R34 GTR too hard and a Boxster too expensive. A new Silvia with hard suspension, no leather and a good ol' turbo would actually bring some life back into Nissan's current line up (ignoring the R35).
A new Silvia should not be stylish, it should pack a punch. Nissan's aren't meant to be in competition with coupes from the Germans.
What I'd be really keen to see is some of the special stripped down Jap cars designed specifically for modifying over here. No stereo, shit interiors, basic turbo and exhaust system; they skimp on the stuff that gets ripped out and replaced by after market parts straight away.

I do not think that these pictures are the car perhaps a mockup made by a graphic artist.

I'd expect the final product to be somewhere in looks between the GT-R and the 350z.

Its certainly not very exicting compared to the 350Z and GTR. Its got none of the cues from previous Nissan coupes. Totally agree with Lightbulb folks need more affordable sports cars.

The 350Z shone brightly and the GTR is set to do the same, but that doesn't mean a third sports car will follow suit. This new SX should have more than just drifters as customers in order to be successful.

This makes no sense at all. They just launched the GT-R. They're redoing the Z. They cant sell the Altima Coupe.

And now we "hear" they'll do a 200SX? Where would it fit in the lineup? Is Nissan really wanting to add another two-door or is this story just another case of internet fantasy?

I own an S15 and this jsut doesn't do it justice.
The R34's new Gtr is cool but this is anything but cool.

It looks like an Alfa Romeo & a Mazda6 had a Gay Lovechild.

I think I'll just be keeping my precious 15...
