Our spy photographers have captured Toyota’s new MPV, the Auris Verso, better known in Australia as the people-moving version of the Corolla.

Currently unavailable in the Australian market, the Auris Verso is likely to carry over its range of petrol and diesel engines from the current generation.

The Auris Verso will be officially launched in the first half of 2009.

Proof they make cars for the blind.
On second thoughts that’s very insulting to blind people. Not even people without sight would want to be seen dead in that.

Sales at Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp. fell in April as record U.S. gasoline prices drove consumers to Toyota Motor Corp.’s fuel-efficient cars and away from big trucks and sport-utility vehicles. The sales decline for the Ford F-Series, America’s best- selling vehicle, overwhelmed sales gains for Ford’s Focus small car and Edge wagon. The Focus had a 43 percent increase in April, and the Edge was up 13 percent. The company said Focus sales to individual consumers rose 88 percent compared with April 2007, for the highest April sales for the model since 2000. Consumer confidence plunged to a five-year low in April, the Conference Board reported this week, as mounting job losses and soaring food and fuel prices cause Americans to retrench.

What kind of an idiotic response is that…’its called imagination’. I imagined the Falcon to be half decent, turned out to be a load of shyte. Many of the CGI shots had imagination coupled with inside info… and they still turned out wrong. Keep your imagination to yourself.

My point is it comes down to petrol prices as market is changing. Ford and Holden need to look ahead better as too big an obsession on V6’s, V8’s.
Ford has a great base…..The Ford offerings is heading down path of Mazda, there are some stunning cars in the stable. Now just needs seriously iron fisted approach of management to nail these designs and cross the T’s and dot the I’s on manufacture. Also to be hellbent on suspension settings and attnetion to detail (e.g. serious seat squabs as sick of flat base where you sit on the seat {like in my BF ute} and not in seat!).
Let me go through the stable. A stable with svelte fillies
1. Ka
2. Puma (would resurrect and rehash)
3. Fiesta
4. Focus
5. Focus Euro Wagon
6. Reflex (or F250)
7. Capri
8. Verve
9. Kuga
10.Iosis
11.Mondeo
12.Mondeo Wagon
13.Falcon range
14.Falcon wagon (updated)
15.Territory (updated)
16.Ranger
17.Transit
18.Falcon ute
19.C-max
20.S-max
21.Galaxy
Like this is were Ford should be hitting rock hard and well and sure not all these cars would come downunder. Slight tweak here and there for differing markets and add diesels, LPG turbo, smaller turbo motors, V8’s that have cylinder shutdown at certain speed, supercharged and turbocharged motors, hybrids and hydrogen or Joe Cell / Generator assistance. The one I witnessed of having a spool of wire feeding in to give off chemical reaction is astonishing!
Ford can redefine where it is going right with this model line up and all management should be hellbent to replace models regularly, introduce some of these models. Remember he who reads in vogue look first and mechanicals with a mega decreasing fossil fuel base will be in front. Ford are going down right road with R&D on engines as offering less fuel savings in there ECO range of engines….this will be only short term til that becomes obselette. Expect around 2011-2013 when electric, hydrogen, hybrids to really take hold!

The Auris Verso will appeal…..to an ageing population, it is a proven fact that the average world wide age is getting a higher number. This includes and is not limited to less kids being born and higher life expectancy rates. Thus as Toyota run a business and only have ambitions for that (motor racing is opposite ambition….limited) they have tactically made cars appeal to a wider older age bracket to enable a bigger selling base.
Some simpletons have a very narrow view on the world and only obsessed on one car maker and are to vague to see this fact!

And isnt it sad that some diehards love Toyota so much and cannot see hot from bland but look at sales numbers only. Abacus beancounter brigade who are happy to drive less appealing cars!

TP this thing is based on the Corolla hatch, so its not hard to imagine it ain’t going to be a stunner. Perhaps you should look at the offerings at Toyota, before you say the Falcon looks like shyte.

Maybe hand it over to the raging number 1 driver for Toyota, Mr Bates and rally drive it. TuRD can do there thing and put wider tyres on it (albeit at a loss of fuel economy), driving lights where side air intakes are and stiffener arm over front suspension struts under bonnet. WOW, its what I would call stunning…………LOL!

May 3rd, 2008 at 3:53 pm
And release it with pink numbers painted on bonnet. Limited edition to say 300. First in best dressed and gee maybe some on here can keep Mr Bates outta car and rally drive it! Ha Ha Ha…..! WOW such stunning appeal…yeah right!

Will take Subbie to change Toyota to cheap sporty number. Corolla hot. Gee I really see massive amounts around with young people!
