Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Smashes World Drift Record
Mauro Carlo is a professional driver who is also a member of the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows Display precision driving team, but he wasn’t out to entertain crowds at the Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, today.
Today, he became the drift king by taking a high powered Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG sedan and smashing the world record drift by a massive 394 metres, achieving a total controlled drift distance of 2308 metres.
The handling circuit at Mercedes-Benz World provided a 360 degree circle of tarmac and after eight laps, Mauro Carlo entered the record books.
It seems that Andrew Mallery, Commercial Operations Director at Mercedes-Benz Cars had absolutely no doubts about Mauro’s ability to get the job done either when he said:
“When Mauro approached us ti hold his record breaking attempt on the circuit at Mercedes-Benz World we were happy to offer him the support. He has been a valuable member of the driving experience team for several years and is a respected driver in the industry, so there was no doubt he would achieve his aim.”
CarAdvice hopes to be able to provide a video of the world record drift in due course.
