Video: 2012 BMW M5 high-speed testing at Nardo

BMW and M Division have released yet another preview video of the new BMW M5. The car is taken to the limit on Italy's Nardo high-speed ring where speeds of up to 300km/h are reached.

This is one of many teaser videos BMW has released of the new M5, all of which seem to build and build anticipation levels until it's eventually unveiled at September's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The test drivers seem pretty relaxed behind the wheel, even though the speedo brushes past 270km/h. One of the test drivers is also driving one-handed while having a refreshing drink, proving the car's stability.

We also get a decent taste of what the car will sound like, and how it sounds during gear changes. The good news is, it will offer a distinctive V8 rumble with all the cracks and pops of a proper sports car.

As far as we know the M5 will feature a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 producing upwards of 420kW of power and 700Nm of torque. It will also be fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Take a look below for a sneak peek.
