Yo Phillip your name says to me your a smart dude(Ha..Ha.)I understand what you mean about stronger cage.But a lack of rearward vision is also a safty issue I know cars are being fitted with cameras and sensors but I personally would rather see with my own eyes

It’s for safety, basically to create a stronger cage which holds up better in the event of an accident. You see it a lot especially in wagons like the Nissan X-trail and the Pug 407, but hatchbacks too.

yeah ford always do run behind, in getting there cars here and in design. This new car looks awesome, its like the beautiful child of a Peugeot 207 and a Mazda 2. however as those other 2 models have been selling for quite a while, ford is left behind. by the time they do get it here, new models of everything else will be coming along with better design again.

looks fantastic. looks SOLID

lets hope it actually has a REAL back seat and not just a bit of foam like the current model. Also ford, for out the extra $5 and carpet thr backs of the back seats instead of just painting them black, thats as dodgy as!!!

Looks good.

Pity it won’t get here till it’s an old model. That’s the exact same reason the current one doesn’t sell, and the same reason the Focus doesn’t sell. When a new model Ford arrives in a timely fashio – the Mondeo – Ford can’t get the model mix right, and the car doesn’t sell.

Ford AU gets it right again – not.

Ford will definitely be building these in Australia in 2010. Petrol prices will be around the $2.00 a litre mark and there will be a huge production capacity gap that Ford will be looking to fill with the Falcon struggling to reach 1600 sales a month!

Where-ever it comes from it will sell pretty well no doubt. I just hope that if they do choose to build it here, that they will tune it to run on 91RON fuel and not 95 like the current model.

It looks great! Let’s hope the boffins at Broadmeadows get the rocks out of their heads and give us a diesel version next time. I drove a Fiesta TDCi in Germany last year and it was awesome! How they have left it out of the Aus line-up thus far is anyones guess.

isnt the fiesta on a fifferent platform.and if ford oz builds it they will stuff it up noy buildng this and taking out the good feature that the euro models have such as keyl;ess entry and start standard

Haha Daewoo was my anti-spam word. Definitely a Daewoo it isn’t. Looks a lot better than most in its class, but somehow I would still say the Mazda 2 is the better looking one. Im not quite fond of the rear end and visibility looks to be hampered a bit by the high waistline. But these are only pictures, so thats all i’ll say until i see one in person. Good job ford.

Looks great. Thing I hate is that by the time we allegedly get it, it’ll be 6 months before the rest of the world gets the newer model. Kinda sucks that we’re 2 years behind.
