Sorry Shinny but even in these financial times, I doubt you’ll get a deal on free extras from an Audi dealer. However, from your shortlist, the Q5 is definitely the one to go for. And the second best would be the Touareg. Don’t get the Murano. It’s lacking in prestige, quality and it doesn’t drive as well as the other two. And what you don’t pay for in car, you’ll make up for in petrol. Get a diesel Q5.

I am planning to buy a new car in Sydney. Contenders are (in preferential order): Q5, Toureg, and Murano. Not all in the same league, but all fun cars. I think the Q5 is the coolest, so I think I will go with it, but the options are too steep!! No standard navigation system?!? Oh please!!! Any room for negotiation, you think???

but, when will Q5 arrive at Australia?
I am planning to buy a compact suv, both X3 and Tiguan are in my list, however, I prefer Audi Q5.
Looking forward to owning it.

This has to be the best looking SUV yet. A SUV diesel with the S tronic and 0-100km in 6.5 is about the perfect car for Sydney. With some of the worst roads in the first world I’d have to think this is my next choice.

Time of reason has come to SUV’s, to avoid them from becoming extinct Dinosaurs with today’s gas prices at the pump.
I think that Audi has understood that it makes no sense to hype a Dinosaur like the Q7, and pay close attention to good mileage, value and discretion with this Q5.
I think that it will be a winner

Audi was slow to join the SUV gang, but maybe that is a good thing by arriving very fashionably late with both the Q7 and now Q5. I think Audi are using the very best designers from the bauhaus design school. I hope Audi are using both form and function in this SUV though by providing completely flat-folding rear seats for loading big stuff as i have once had to move largish furniture in my friend’s A4 avant and that was a bit of practicality problem. I think that if this SUV is priced to be less than 50% more expensive than a comparatively specified Mazda CX-7 then it would be worth it, even though Audi’s quattro is far superior. I know its sort of like comparing apples to oranges but before there was simply no comparison what so ever with Mazda’s old design and the Audi design, Mazda have finally discovered style but will probably never match Audi’s desirability.

Great car! Definetly have this over the X3!

The front styling is heavily borrowed
from the Audi S5. Thats not a bad thing, i can just tell.

Every time I look at this car I like it more.

And that beautiful V6 diesel with a 7 speed DSG – that’s got to be approaching heaven.

Great looking suv with great engines and awd engineering from audi, plus the bank volt safety of audis and build quality, as long as its priced competitively it will sell very well and i would consider a diesel version..

Well done Audi! I have to say Audi have done a magnificent job on this suv. It looks so much better than anything else that’s on the market (bar the cx-7). I’d take this over the X3 or the Merc anyday. But then again i do have a soft spot for Audis.

I live in the UK and have just bought 2 new cars – BMW X5 and a Range Rover. So far I love them both (especially the Range Rover!) but I have just been told that in a couple of years I am most likely moving to London for work. I love SUVs and I think that when the time comes, I will be buying a Volvo XC60 and a Q5. Love the look of both and they are both safe, good looking and probably good around town (for SUVs at least!).
