I am in the market in Jan 2009, I need a new compact SUV as a family vehicle keeping in mind the rising fuel prices. I was very closely looking at the Freelander 2, or next option was the Tiguan. Now, Audi Q5 is a WOW!

My only concern is this, hopefully in Australia it will be priced right and not phenomenally more expensive than the US prices. After almost making up my mind for a Freelander 2, Audi Q5 is now the choice. Hopefully they will have enough to sell early 2009 as I hate to wait once I have paid.

This is quite a nice sized vehicle, pricing with the V6 diesel and 7 speed DSG (that would be the dry clutch version not the wet clutch???) will be very interesting.

The Q7 3.0 V6 Quattro starts at $86800, so this one will have to start somewhere lower, n’est pas?

The Q5 with 2.0 FSI and 2.0 diesels should therefore start a bit lower still.
