How are you clocking this time(6.2)? Down a hill? That time is as quick as the BF XR6T, no way the standard 5.4L(not XR8) would get near that.. The 5.4L is a slug and runs out of puff in the higher rev range.

i own a nice BF 2006 SR Falcon, 5.4L 6 speed ZF, i timed it 25 times and it does 6.2s 0-100km/h when in drive, every time consistently. Looks like the 6 speed ZF is taking an advantage over its low RPM torque, 500Nm on RON91 or 518Nm on RON98 and some 242kW. An amazing car, best part is once you’re doing 120km/h – 200km/h, its much quicker than my previous VYII SS manual.

Thanks Andrew, was referring to the green XR. Much prefer the plain 5 spoke 19″ wheels. Great news. Now just have to decide on a colour.

and the one on the orange are the option

Actually don’t mind the look of the 19″ alloy’s on this funny coloured (but still atractive machine)..

Anyone know if they’re a factory option or aftermarket?

Looks like they may have a ford insignia in the centrecap (which means little anyway)

With rising petrol prices, holden are bringing out a 7 litre engine which wouldnt be very popular as in 2010, ford are thninking of supercharging or turbocharging the V8 engine which is said to be a 5 litre engine. Which would make it alot more quicker that the I6T. The V8T would also come with that roar that gets you excited. You should expect it to be priced between 50K and 60K

I was musing over the new FPV F6 vs the W427. On paper, the F6 looks trumped by this 7 litre monstruosity, although it’s interesting to note that although the new Nissan GTR produces around 350 kws, it’s torque is similar to the F6 at around 550 nm it’s also not light, weighing in at around 1.7 something tonnes. Any ideas of how much the new F6 might be priced at?

Ford GT – The price difference between the new XR6T and the HSV427 will be between $75-100K as an XR6 is expected to be around $40-45K whilst the 427 will probably be up around $120K..

If you want a more accurate comparison with the XR6T you will have to wait until Holden bring out the Twin urbo Torana which is expected by 2010-12

The XR6 Turbo said to retails for $45 490 leather pack is $5000 so $50 000 sounds about right.W427 $125 000 or more,i would buy xr6,get an atomic bottom end,bigger intercooler,larger injectors and all the other good gear and walk away with $1000s in your pocket and a quicker car

Problem is though, it will be outgunned by Holden’s W427. Latest edition of Motor says the W427 is expected to do 0-100 in 4.5 seconds. Although I wonder what the price difference will be.
