2011 Porsche Cayman S Black Edition

Porsche has announced it will be releasing a special edition of the Cayman, called the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition. Like the Boxster Black and 911 Black editions, the Cayman benefits from unique cosmetic revisions and engine power upgrades.

Starting with the visuals, Porsche is presenting the limited Cayman in distinct black paintwork with matching shadow chrome 19-inch alloy wheels, Cayman badging and dark exhaust tips. There's also a number of contrasting stainless steel and chrome trimmings, including stainless steel 'Black Edition' sill plates and a chrome-highlighted rear spoiler.

Behind the passenger compartment sits the 3.4-litre flat-six engine from the Cayman S, only it has been retuned to produce 243kW over the standard 235kW. The torque figure remains unchanged at 370Nm. Acceleration from 0-100km/h can now be achieved in 5.1 seconds in manual form, one-tenth quicker than the standard Cayman S.

Other unique features of the Black Edition include Bi-Xenon headlights, black leather interior featuring the Porsche logos embossed on the front seat headrests, as well as a special Sport Design sports steering wheel.

The Porsche Cayman S Black Edition will go on sale exclusively in Germany in July with prices starting at €67,807 (around $90,890), including Porsche's Communication Management (PCM) system - the Sport Chrono Pack is an optional extra. Just 500 units of the limited edition will be made.
