Aston Martin V8 Vantage video teaser
Before we bring you our full ten minute video of the new Aston Marin V8 Vantage Coupe and Roadster, we've
He wouldn’t have originally said ‘6-pot calipers up the front’ by any chance would have he?
The day after the post about the copper on the phone, you upload a video of you guys overtaking on double white lines…
all class…
haha good point anthonii.
It’s a narrow and deserted road which would be lucky to see one car per hour. The only reason ANYONE needs to put two wheels over the white lines, is that it isn’t wide enough for two cars or you want to give the cyclists plenty of room.
So how do you like them apples you know all!
And then can the FPV super pursuit…..
Came***
But if we say its ok on a technicality of averages, then to say the copper was bad because the technicality was actually written into the law is a bit funny…
I don’t care on either point, its more an ironic observation.
Back to the car though… From the front it looks like Bubba from Forest Gump with a cold, a bigged lipped purple thing. Then the back end is a bit to, i don’t know, the lights are ugly.
Sure it goes alright though, though the idea of all that power with a light bum is scary for me…
It is one good ute! Does anybody think that the new FPV ute will beat it to a 100km?
nice video man. but you gota stop waving your arms around its really distracting.
how much 18 year old testosterone can you squeece into a car i guess…hsv has done it however, they known cahsed up bogans will buy it :P
cookie
I question 4.9s 0 to 100- Duck the new F6 manual with launch control would have a very good chance
Typically Australian. Love it Holden or not. Send one to me please anyone! Didn’t go much on those spacky rear lights though.
Except when the new LS3 gets under the bonnet of the maloo………………….it may beat the F6.
No Name, arent u a ford lover?
What a jip, I couldnt get the video to work
first of all great videos, best Australian car site out hands down.
second dont really like the style of the maloo sure its a fast car but to me not very good looking.
and last of all is there a way to get these cars on the track and do some testing ? check some times?
Great job Anthony.
You stopped waiving your hands from the previous video review.
Great to hear something negative in a video review for once in a while. It puts things in perspective.
More video review please :)
As good as it may be, I couldn’t own a car with that much plastic ad-ons.. I hate the bodykit, it ruins the lines.
I’d go the SS any day and get some upgrades.
Yeah its a great car but…4.9 seconds my ass!! I have an 07 FPV F6 and when i ran one i was head to head with it, There in house testing is full of crap, put a holden badge and on a Go Kart and it will still sell.
pointless car, holden would be better off making a VE monaro
Me a Ford lover Duck – No not really. Have had Fords in the past as Co cars. Current workhorse is a 3.0litre diesel Vectra. Looking out for and Audi A6 for the right money. Don’t really have and Allegiances for car manufacturers.
Holden would be better off building a VE Monaro
If that’s the case then why didn’t the previous model Monaro sell as well [in Oz] as the previous model Maloo.
Don;t forget that after the Clubbie the Maloo is HSVs most popular Model.. as it is with the Commodore SS.. and I assume the same with the Falcon Range
A ute is a more versatile car than a coupe particularly for those who are single [or married] with no kids and have an active sporty lifestyle
I mean the Sports-Coupe sector in Australia is a extremely low volume market for all involved : BMW Merc-Benz Audi.. Jag pretty much all except Porsche
The designer says he took inspiration for the VE MNaloo from the VU HRT/LE 427 Maloo Concept… If thats the case they should have put the HRT Ute into production as it looks alot better than this – particularly at the rear
Quote Anthonii: Sure it goes alright though, though the idea of all that power with a light bum is scary for me…
Yeah but coulld you imagine how out of control youd get wih all that power in an FWD Aurion?
Maybe, just maybe Wheelnut, thats why the Aurion hasnt got anything like the torque or power of this??? Why did you bring up such an irrelevent point?
Good review, I agree about the tail gate, its too over done, and the “quad” out lets are too small, a single 3 inch chrome outlet on either side would look much better (and if the 3 inch pipe went all the way back to a nice set of headers it would sound much better too.) Keep the videos comming, heaps better than reading the reviews!
Jbot he’s enticing TP with his comments

Absolutely, That was a clean overtake of the camera vehicle and later lay rubber in a public place. That isn’t a low use road.
Worst colour ever, Mahindra rear end looks and a crap grill. Poor resale coming up.
Yeah I think that backend is going to look dated pretty fast.
I saw one of these in red this morning and it looks better in that colour in my opinion.
Great car (what red blooded Aussie doesn’t like a stupidly fast V8 ute), but they’ve taken a pretty elegant design and put some ugly crap on it.
Why does HSV have an obsession with putting the number plate in the middle of the tailgate on the Maloo? They’ve been doing it since the VG and it just makes the rear end look fussy. They seem to have an obsession with plastic bits tacked on. The SS looks much cleaner from behind.
Those (fake light) tailgate decals are absolutely awful !!!
Was behind one today…
I would peel them off !!!
The rear end is an after thought, sometimes I think Holden try a little to hard to draw a crowd, only media skills will save this one, like Holden has done with Barina, Captiva and Epica……
# Wheelnut Says:
Yeah but coulld you imagine how out of control youd get wih all that power in an FWD Aurion?
Your quite right, same thing but one does not hurt your arms…
Applying stupid amounts of power any nearly any Australian car is going to get you in trouble unless you really know what your doing, FWD or RWD

Your an idiot ! So its okay is it?? Never cross double white lines on any road they are there for a reason! And i suppose its okay to use your mobile phone while driving as well ” Because its in the country” Excuses dont save lives nimrod…
I stuffed that sentence up, allow me to try again…

Applying stupid amounts of power INTO A CORNER, nearly any Australian car is going to get you in trouble unless you really know what your doing, FWD or RWD.
I heard those fake plastic brake lights are only limited edition. So if u dont like it dont worry, wait till there is no more limited edition maloo.
Iamthestig:
The arn’t decals. They are bolt on, they just don’t function.
I agree with most here it is way over done. Id buy an SSV ute over a Maloo and take it to walkinshaw performance. Just as I would buy a Calais or SSV over a Clubsport/GTS and do the same. Anyone know if Holden would sell you a SSV sedan without the rear wing? That would be my pick but Im guessing Holden wouldnt do it. VE sedans look so nice without a rear wing
as far as the number plate in the tail gate goes, im the opposite.
i think it should be reserved for the Maloo only just like it has been in the past.
i think the plate in the gate on lower spec models looks tacky
plastic bits tacked on is what makes the Maloo and thats what has come to be expected in a maloo.
you cant argue with the many repeat buyers of the maloo nor the average persons desire for one.
if you are knocking the handling attributes of such a ute, you ….
(a) are making assumptions based on stereo types
(b) or have only ever driven a jap ute.
dont worry a sports ute such as this will handle 300kw a hell of a lot better than a FWD.
these actually have quite a bit of weight over the wheels
Sounds like a good idea AussieCars but the whole warranty thing would worry me the most…
To 280zx (quite possibly the worst excuse for a sports car ever made) that’s quite fitting for a dill like yourself. Do me a favour. Go annoy Drive or Cars guide! Come back if you want to talk about cars. Next you’ll tell us that you don’t own a car and you get the bus to work!
Here is some interesting news I found on http://www.edmunds.com regarding the new 2010 Camaro
….The Camaro shares its basic component set and family of engines with the Pontiac G8. It WILL, in fact, be built on the SAME production line in Australia as the Pontiac and its Holden-branded brethren.
Duck: There isn’t a Limited Edition Maloo, When HSV make a Limited Edition; usually to celebrate an anniversary or a win etc. its only available in one unique colour and a slightly different bodykit.. whereas ATM the Maloo is available in every colour and every Maloo has the same taillights.
Yet I think the Bodykit on the HRT Maloo would look a lot better
the CAEok’ed numbers of GMs new LS9 engine are out, .. over 630hp for a sub7lt engine…………..why dosnt holden shoehorn that into its performance cars.. no drysump to worry about, smaller and lighter than the previous generation bmw m5 v8…….
shrug…well see
this think looks like rubbuish BTW:P reminds me of the chevy averlanche or aztek
Nice music with the video!
Havent we seen the maloo video before though?
why is this at the top of the news?
Ok thats great and all, but why does it SOUND LIKE UTTER ASS.
Every stocko holden Ive come across sounds AWFUL. Jesus christ let the things breathe from the factory.
KC – emmision laws dictate exhaust setups.
look for a vid on the net with a clubsport with a walkinshaw setup.
sounds insane.
What the $^&*s going on??
Groundhog Day!!!
Nothing special, ass end is ugly as sin, and as per usual, the only way holden can make a car go around a corner is give it more grip.
The 6.2L is coming, and i bet just like all the other upgrades, it does nothing for the actuall car. I dont think i have seen HSV’s times improve since they went from 260 to 285kw.
I test drove a manual VESS last week and was left wanting. Great in a straight line, and that was the only highlight. Handling was average, and the seats were 1 and a half the size of me and im not that small. Plastics used for the console are cheap and very chizzled.
These cars are in for a rough time once the F6 is released, a much better put together machine, I cant see the HSV’s having much chance considering the XR6 turbo is already faster than them.
My 2 cents.
