2011 MINI Cooper SD ALL4 Countryman on sale in Australia in May
MINI Australia has announced the MINI Cooper SD ALL4 Countryman will join the local line-up from next month, adding yet another variant to the unique compact SUV range.
The SD is a combination of the Cooper S (Sport) and the Cooper D (Diesel) models and will sit at the top of the Countryman range in Australia.
Powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine, the SD produces 105kW of power and 305Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100km/h is not tremendously sporty at 9.4 seconds, although its 4.9 litres/100km combined cycle fuel consumption makes it one of the most fuel efficient ‘sports’ models on the market.
The standard Cooper D Countryman is equipped with an 82kW/270Nm 1.6-litre engine that completes the sprint in 10.9 seconds and sips 4.4 litres/100km.
The SD comes standard will ‘ALL4’ all-wheel drive, Auto Start/Stop, brake energy regeneration and Shift Point Display, which indicates the most economical times to change gears.
Interior highlights include Bluetooth and USB connectivity, MINI radio boost system, front sports seats and leather steering wheel, while the exterior scores automatic headlights, rear parking sensors and 17-inch alloy wheels.
All Countryman models can be ordered in either four- or five-seat layout, and the luggage capacity expands from 350 litres with the rear seats upright to 1170 litres with the seats laid down.
Standard safety features in the SD include six airbags, electronic stability control and dynamic traction control.
