Air con now standard on Omegas. Sorry im abit pissed atm, so my grammar ia almost as good as Tp’s or dinfos’ws.
to start with the bfs platform was supereior to start with zeta is newer though.the new falcon looks great thoguh and hoden is freaking out as it does but modeo and epica is a worthy fight [lol no treally]
Well Oz and Rick, if your so leanrned about the new falcon could you tell me the %10 of carryover components from the last falcon, me thinks there’s more of the same on the new one than you think….
AZ
FG carry over items include:
Seat base frames, ignition bezel, seatbelt anchorages and many more minor componentry, that would only be change for change sake. IRS is pretty much carryover, but why change what is already the class leader anyway?
VE actually had more carry over than what FG does. Clean sheet, yeah right! The sheet was quite heavily cluttered with bits from the existing parts bin.

Holden still trying to take away Fords Thunder, mmm is this a sign that Holden is scared…
WTF is wrong with u. they are making run out sales so they can get rid of them 20inch wheels, the series 2 will be out soon and holden will most prabably have made new ones so they are trying to get rid of most of them now, and so more people buy it before the series 2 come out, and the fg.
every make does it, look at ford now selling the falcon for 32 888 or something with all those extras
Az….once again crap falls from your mouth……….check the facts ………..
bret you don’t know what your talking about the Fg is almost identical to the bf have you seen the wheels magazine with the fg sideview next to the bf and the VE? well it looks practically the same (it’s not a clean sheet) car on the otherhand the ve has a much better stance. Guys we will see if this so callled “new” FG will out sell the ve despite record loses in sales remeber the fairlane 1 car sold in a month? Will this car be exported most likly not. geelong plant will shutdown and the sales. Will this car be nominated for world car of the year? How can u rate the fg compared to the ve when it hasn’t even been realeased.Remeber the AU 800 million dollars? it was a waste of money and time atleast the ve has won awards and still is the top seller for 12 years straight. I can gurantee that the FG won’t outsell the VE this year. Series 2 is coming aug or sep with D1 Allotec 227kw and 6.0 litre will have the deactivation system which the pontiac g8 has already, high output stadard most likly lifted too 205kw and DI 225 ON SV6 CALAIS and the 6sp auto.
Why would holden be scared, Ford are the ones who need to catch up on the sales department.
Hey AZ, because that’s what I heard when the FG Falcon was unveiled. So what if there’s carry overs. Does that mean it’s bad just because it’s not 100% clean sheet?
HSV Senator said: “geelong plant will shutdown and the sales.”
WHY? just because you don’t support Ford doesn’t mean it would go your way. So do you actually want Ford to close up? You’d have to be sick.
HSV Senator is TP’s brother……….
I like what I see, I have placed an order for the SSV in green .
Have you oredered this edition or the normal SS-V?
One thing this SS-V has over the current SS-V or MY09 one is the spolier.
The one pictured has the high rise spoiler which holden deleted in MY8.5 off the SS and SS-V i think to ease preoduction and make it simplier. They now currently have the SV6 smller rise spolier.
A lot of S’s in that hehe.
QOUTE AZ…………..
“Rick harris, isnt the FG built on the same platform as the BA/BF?? Dont think it’ll be all that different…”
well i suggest knowing before speaking.
any one that was even going to look sideways at a falcon would know that there isnt much carry over.
its quite a considarable update.
unfortunately some are so simple in that if it looks like it has similar DNA then they think its the same.
i hope you didnt get your nose or cheek bones or any other features that resemble your mother because going by your logic, you would be a female
and for the record people,
ford are running out their falcon for 32K odd with a load of goodies too.
they are both doing it, and when one of them does, the other seems to be aswell.
hmmm seems that you can now get the ss-v intereior in blue yummy
Why is the is this comments section so abusive, all i said that i heard FG was built on the same platfrom as BA/BF, and that because of that i thought it wouldnt be much different. Which doesnt mean that BA/BF was a bad car. Instead of insulting people for giving thier opinion, correct me, and i’ll go on my way knowing more about the new falcon….
Hi Atomic SSV, yes I have ordered the special 60th birthday edition and cannot wait for it to arrive.
Good on Holden! The base Omega looks great!
They’ll do this with the wagon probaly…..so the new wagon will exceptionaly good then!
They’re not going to make a 60th Anniversary Sportwagon because it’s just been released and to do so wouldn detract from the activity and demand which surrounds the release of a new vehicle such as this.
My Local Holden dealer already has approx 40 orders for the Sportwagon so I don’t think a “Limited Edition.. End Of Model Run Out Special such as the 60th Anniversary Edition is needed for the Wagon Just yet
I have heard that GMH has struck problems with full colour sat system for 60th birthday ssv so they are replacing it with an electronic sunroof…
Sat nav is already in many models so i cant see why there would be an issue anywhere?.
Who ever said the VE has more carry over then FG Serious i mean serious your ADHD tablets are days overdue.
Please noone would really believe that BS would they?.
And yet i’m still in shock at the other comment on BA’s architecture is superior to VE’s? Again this is something no founded and pure assumption speculations exaggeration plan BS.
It’s not Holdens fault Ford made the Dud that was called “AU” So they in fact went away from tradition to try and leave that bad memory in the past, By building the BA, With gear that wasn’t ready for a good 4-5 years.
Whilst holden played around with there older ageing platform still leading the sales.
Now this new FG is 2 years late, But what it has is over 6 years of Real sale development behind it, VE 2 years, No updates on the VE as yet, Many updates on the full suspension of the BA-FG.
Now all that aside, What did everyone think holden would sit back sit on the hands and let the rest try and get in on them?.. No, What makes holden so great is they are switched on, there marketing department is second to none. And they attack rather then retaliate.
Good words there HARRY i totaly agree! Holden would never let ford walk all over them.
^And i mean NEVER!
The base model Omega’s interior looks awesome for a base model! Holden should make that standard, all the time even the captiva looks great!
Just brought this baby in the 60th ann omega version with Metalic paint, 2100tow kit, tinted windows, SS spoiler & 60th ann mats +ALL ON ROADS
-========Drive away $32990.=========—
All i can say is push your dealer for a good deal, sales are down 15% and they need to move the units.
Tomas79 – I don’t know if you watched the Holden 60th Anniversary Special on Channel 9.. but in the opening minutes the host said
Welcome to this special presentation to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Holden – the Adelaide based saddlery company that became an international car manufacturer.
She also said
overtime Holden developed from rather humble beginnings to a state of the art production facility in Elizabeth.
There was also a segment on the VE where they spoke to a respected journalists: Peter Robinson and Peter Gover as well as a couple of Holdens [Australian] designers Richard Felazzo and Peter Hughes who all said that it was the first all Australian Commodore.
If not I’m pretty sure it will come out on D V D.. If it does I will buy you a copy – along with a copy of “Billion Dollar Baby [which is all about the VE] and send then to you with a christmas card.
For those of you who are thinking about buying a new VE.. i visited my local Holden dealer last week and I saw A Golden Bronze VE SS… I said The Salesman [the one at the dealer not the one on this site] never seen that colour on a VE before.
he said that its a test colour to gauge peoples reaction to it before the next model comes out… he then showed me a Bright Yellow VE which was also a test colour.
The Bronze was similar to that of Fusion the colour used on the CV8-Z Monaro… and the yellow was similar to that on the HSV VZ “Thunder: Limited Edition Maloo. Both of them looked really good.
BM, some of us who enjoy our cars, don’t really have the time / interest to watch tv…
Hi Wheelnut, I’ve seen both of those colours. Fantastic! They’re not on the Holden web site, as you say. Ignition’s made an official comeback, I see.
Hmmm, I’d like that new bronze to be available on the Mk6 Golf, but I’ve seen the colours available overseas, and they’re almost as drab as the current ones.
Pity Tomas you may have learnt something about one of Australia’s iconic car manufacturers , out enjoying your Prado ? hahaha How?
