Subaru XV Concept unveiled at Auto Shanhgai 2011

Subaru has pulled the wraps off its all-new Subaru XV Concept at Auto Shanghai 2011 motor show in China. It offers a small four-door, five-seat crossover layout matched with a youthful yet robust appearance.

Subaru is yet to finalise specific engine and power details about the XV Concept, however, the company has said it is equipped with a 2.0-litre Boxer engine combined with a Lineartronic CVT transmission. It's also fitted with Subaru's all-wheel drive system.

Judging by the look of the car and the various 'tough' trimming pieces, such as the black protruding wheel arch protection details, the stainless steel-look chin bar in lower front bumper, and spotlights, the XV Concept showcases details that could be presented on future Outback and Forester models.

The car is also fitted with various funky elements such as a glass roof which runs the entire length of the car, black alloy wheels with silver highlights, and a large multi-function touch screen centre display inside the cabin. The cabin is also lined in three-tone leather, with green highlights and contrasting white trim.

Managing Director of Subaru Australia, Nick Senior, recently spoke about the concept, saying

“XV Concept clearly flags Subaru’s intentions to capture even more of the crossover market in the future and this stunning new design no doubt provides some clues as to what we may expect. Sub-Compact SUVs are a growing opportunity and XV Concept is the type of vehicle that will attract even more customers.”
