2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 tech sheet leaked online

After a few months' speculation, a tech sheet recently leaked online could prove the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 Special Edition might be a model to hit the market in the near future.

Although Porsche hasn't officially revealed details that such a version of the GT3 will exist, this tech sheet - which was posted on Teamspeed - is it. Apparently the person who published the sheet online said he had got it from a Porsche dealer, which could prove its authenticity.

On the sheet, the heading clearly outlines a 2011 model year 911 GT3 RS 4.0. At the top it says it uses a 4.0-litre engine producing 368kW. The data sheet also reveals the price of the expected model, which will be 179,880 euros ($247,000) including German taxes.

If the data is all true, the model will be the most hardcore of the GT3 range. According to the sheet it will feature in-car roll bar protection as standard, as well as lightweight headlights and a 90-litre fuel tank. On top of all of this though, the naturally aspirated GT3 RS 4.0-litre engine will offer the same amount of power as the current standard 911 Turbo.

As previously reported, a limited run of just 500 units is expected to be built. No word yet on when this bad boy will hit the market, but we'll certainly keep you updated.
