Renault Samsung SM7 Concept unveiled at Seoul show

Renault has unveiled the next-generation Renault Samsung SM7 Concept. Renault previewed some sketches of the car a couple of weeks ago before unveiling it at the Seoul Motor Show in Korea.

The SM7 is set to be the basis for an upcoming luxury sedan Renault and Samsung will build specifically for the Asian market. Reports say the car could bring back the Safrane nameplate in some form in the future, and will be built on the Nissan Teana platform.

From these images it's easy to tell the SM7 was designed to take on the four-door coupe market. It features a long sleek roofline with long-raked C-pillars. The car's design also incorporates LED lighting matched with plenty of chrome trimming.

Although no specific driveline details of the car have been revealed, reports suggest the production version of the SM7 could feature a range of engines including 136kW 2.5-litre V6 and a 187kW 3.5-litre V6. A diesel variant is also likely to join the production line-up.

The production Renault Samsung SM7 is set to hit the Asian market some time later this year. We'll keep you updated.
