Audi TT 2007 Diesel Australian Release Uncofirmed

Audi Australia today informed us that the new Audi TT Diesel variant is still uncofirmed for the Australian Market. As mentioned earlier the 2007 Audi TT range is set to come out in Australia by the end of November.
However the Diesel variant is not on its way to Australia for an unconfirmed period of time, if ever.
At this early stage we are unable to say whether it will or will not be. Audi Representative Lois Schasser said

Hi I am looking at getting a new vehicle I am concidering either an Audi Peugeot BMW I have a preference for a 2+2 Coupe your Audi S5 seems OK does it come in a turbo diesel configeration?
What a pity the TT isn’t going diesel in Oz. I’d love to hear and see a fried egg driven by an egg-beater
