I am going to have to say that Jimmy seems to be completely dense.

Who cares about the viper, who cares about the civic. This is an NSX forum.

Besides, quite clearly the cars on youtube have had extensive modifications and no longer resemble the original spec civic’s that rolled off the production line, hence any comparison is redundant.

It could be likely in fact, that enough money may have been spent on these civic’s to match what the lowest spec viper costs, making them no more value for money, particularly when you consider the amount of time that has been wasted trying to make a clearly inferior car into something that could compete with the speed of the viper – and trust me, I am completely unbiased and don’t fancy anything American anymore than you do Jimmy, I’m simply stating facts.

I honestly don’t understand what such uneducated imbecile’s as yourself are doing trying to prove a stupid point, when the first rebuttal made it completely obvious that you are a novice Jimmy, and have much to learn about the world of motoring. You’re wrong. Face facts and get over it!

why would you buy a viper? if you buy a honda civic, i’m pretty sure that if you spend same amount of money, im pretty sure that civic would smoke a viper(bad). and a viper is gay and waste of money. Nsx is going to be bad ass.

on the subject of civics and integras smokin a viper, its just not happenin standard. But around a track, theres no way a viper is keeping up with an integra R. (DC2 UK spec B18) The Integra R is widely regarded as the best front wheel drive handling car available today.

At the end of the day, any normally aspirated engine that produces more than 100BHP per litre is a good engine.

ok kids….. my first “real car” was a 06 viper because i decided with my first big check i better get a big status symbol. it was an uncomfortable, annoying and i could bet if i drove it hard on the week end i would be making an appointment at the local dodge dealer on monday to fix some stupid thing. it has, like all n.a. cars, the quality of $10 socket set from wallmart. so i got rid of it for a corvette zo6. thought i be cool.. goin to smoke my friend in a 92 nsx r (from japan but not legal for the road here… dont rat on my friend here hehehe) blew him away on start, f’er took me on the out side of a turn and jumped a head. iam coming up fast after the apex and “oil light”!!! WTF!!! new engine, took 2 weeks and had grand am loaner (WTF again) it now got a new engine and its sittin in me shop. not gona drive it any more cause i gotta keep the miles low for a trade in on the new nsx… compairing a honda or even toyota to a north american peice of junk is like compairing a lada niva to porsch Cayenne.. all you crapalier drivers, get a life.. i saw the light (nsx tail lights to be exact)

I’d prefer to drive a fuel efficient car than a petrol burner. Viper vs NSX. In LeMans Race NSX win. In production they detuned the NSX so people can drive faster. They don’t come in high power like american muscles with 500BHP+ viper. NSX manufacturer wanted to make fuel efficient cars but those who don’t like the weak power and want more power from their NSX should get it tuned. I think this is what japanese manufacturer wanted their customers to do. Simply bring it in if you got the money. Japanese cars have high reputations for vehicle tuning capability why? Because they are modz cars like everybody should it

in my opinion, and to be quite frank, low-end torque is for lazy drivers who dont like to downshift or for people who always need power at a simple tap of the throttle. the point behind VTEC is that it can drive like a normal efficient car at low revs, but when you feel like having fun then just rev it up and it becomes a screamer. low end-torque isnt needed when it comes to efficient driving at low revs

what i like about hondas is that their engines have a lot of sophisticated engineering to them, and theyre not about mindless power figures in simply making a big engine

VTEC is good, but it is overrated by fanboys. a car with VTEC would be faster than a car without VTEC or any variable valve timing, but its no big deal. VTEC helps the mixture of fuel and air to be more efficient at lower revs because in normal engines fuel and air doesnt mix that well at low revs, and thats it. the VTEC ‘kick’ is more of a gimmick because letting your VTEC kick in at lets say, 5000rpm instead of 6000rpm would have less kick, but it would be faster in a straight line.

the old NSX is a great car. just stay away from the automatic one.

and no im not a honda hater, i own a 07 civic type R and i love it

The only fault of the NSX and well, other Hondas/Acuras, is the lack of low-end torque. The greatly acclaimed VTEC has been around for 13 years or so, and in its continued pursuit to win just about every power wars given a certain displacement, the highly strung engines simply don’t have enough grunt. VTEC screams tremendously and can liberally be modded, but up until they cure the torque issues, perfection is still miles away.

Iam now driving my second HONDA NSX . My message to anyone out there is .just go get one !!! They are easily the best marque i have owned and driven At 57 years of age i can not fault the car in any way. It is faultless in construction . aesthetics. performance. reliability , handling …..i could go on and on .
I formerly have owned a toyota 2000 GT ,Ferraris . Bentleys Rolls, Maserati , Jaguars …and all the less interesting sports car marques .
Nothing compares in any way shape or form with the HONDA NSX
The ramblings i have read over the years from journalists just make me chuckle . Clearly these people have no idea at all over the broad range of sports cars . I have owned them all , over and over, and i repeat nothing even compares with price , performance, and all the other things i meNtion above .
To say A honda NSX is underpowered is incredible journalistic clap trap, to be kind .
As i said i drive one everday and the cars are made in heaven . GO BUY ONE ……..they have never been cheaper!

Jimmy you are retarded.. a viper would only be pulled on by a integra or a civic if it had EXTREME mods done to it… how about this you pull your god send civic next to my evo, and you see what it can do.. cuz tell you what I have modded it beyond recognition and I have raced a viper, and beat it by 1 count it 1 car length.. I’ll leave specs on the bottom on the evo for all you non believers… but even a K20 swap in an EK wouldn’t touch a viper in a 1/4… learn more about cars before you open your mouth wanna be…

I work for honda and have for 5 years. One thing you can say is Honda,toyota,subaru,nissan,Lexus,Acura,and Infinity. Are the best cars on the market dollar for dollar. if you want a car to last longer then ten years. they all have valve timing. but vtec can be contolled in two ways. when it kicks in, and how long it can last. and there also the only companies you can get a 10 second car out of a 4 cyl. and now that there getting into v8 technology.Only time will tell. your suppose to start counting from 1 not 10. thats the reason why all of the american car companies are getting taken over by toyota and honda. have a nice day. and NSX was suppose to be the topic. and look what its come to.
