2011 Fiat 500 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari by Romeo Ferraris with 194kW

By Brett Davis |

How much power can you extract from a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder? Well, BMW used to get 969kW from a 1.5-litre back in the old Formula One days, but it seems Italian tuning company Romeo Ferraris has managed to do quite well with this creation. It’s a tuned version of the Fiat 500 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari.

Outputting an almost ridiculous 194kW of power, Romeo Ferraris is offering just two specially-tuned versions of the Fiat 500 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. Romeo Ferraris starts out with the standard 1.4-litre T-Jet engine and feeds it with a bunch of bigger and better components, including a new turbocharger, new camshafts and a remapped engine computer. The 695 Tributo Ferrari also gets a revised dual-outlet exhaust system for greater flow and a crisper note.

Like the normal Fiat 500 Abarth 695, this limited edition features the same comprehensive sports suspension package that is easily capable of containing the pint-sized powerhouse. Romeo Ferraris has fit a larger Brembo brake package though to make sure the extra power always has a safety net if things got out of hand.

As mentioned, just two of these bad boys will be produced and they’ll both go on sale in the US market. It is quite a remarkable achievement, 194kW from a 1.4-litre, that’s a specific output of 138.6kW/litre. To put that into perspective a current model HSV GTS only manages to offer 52kW per litre of combustion.

200 kw in this litte thing might be dangerous.

Hold on tight to the wheel when the boost comes on.

    • My Cars Called T-Rex

It is a good achievement though 194kw from a 1.4

Its specific output would be more compareable to performance motorbikes.

      Nice work.

One other thing,I bet this has got lightswitch power delivery which means heaps of lag.
The standard abrath would smoke this on a twisty tight road,IMO

It seems like Fiat release a new 500 every week. Yawn.

  • Justin

    Torque steer much?

    • rose

hahaha, you read my mind. It’ll use a tank of fuel as fast as a veyron and chew through the head just as quick.

  • Leyianart

Hahaha a Supermini with FWD and a HSV killer!

    Great package.

  • Sam

Knowing the “vanilla” version is $80k, how much will this one fetch? BMW M3 money perhaps? :)
Fantastic achievement, boosting a little 1.4 four to almost 200 kW!!!

  • Yeti Man

I would prefer a Lotus Exige over this. This Fiat is way to crazy for me.

    …hahaha…1.4 + Fwd + 194kw + tiny fuel tank + micro wheelbase = FAIL < Dangerous.

  • gearboxdawg

alot of grunt for such a small engine.

  • Reckless1

For those with tiny brains who have schlepped around in mum’s Excel for the last 5 years, this car stretches their capacity to understand. So they post stupid comments on here – duh!

This car is not as small as some seem to think, and the drivetrain is solid, and it won’t run out of fuel like a HSV, and it hasn’t got too much power for a real driver.

Top marks for a super package, SUCCESS.

Reckless1 some people are thick up stairs ya know!?

They have to leave the country for a while a and see Europeans drive a little so that they can learn something about driving.

      The words of someone I meet last week;
Person: “I think I am an awesome driver”
Me: “Great, do you know how to drive a manual?”
Person: “No but I’m a good driver”
      Me” “I’m sure you are!”

The is nothing like hitting a tight curve with an Automatic gearbox and just use the brakes to balance the car.
      Magnificent experience I way!

From a Manual humble driver and WINNING.

Why does the Fiat 500 get so much press? Seriously, who in the hell will buy one apart from 20 year old girl?

Who would waste so much money on this one and why would a tuning company waste so much time and resources hotting it up to this level?

I could not even be bothered reading the story. A complete waste of time…

Editor, 138.6 KW/litre is still lower than the Mitsu Evo FQ-400 several years ago which produced 302 kw from 2 litre. That’s is 151 kw/litre, about 10% higher than this Fiat and that was years ago. Just because it’s italian and it’s marketed by Ferrari it deserve a praise?

    • http://run_me_over.com Ramp

Do you believe only Japanese and German cars should be praised?

    • STI

The FQ-400 was still slower around the Top Gear track than the STI.

      This thing has SEX appeal.

Much better than that Jap crap
