Video: 2011 Mazda BT-50 durability test on dyno

By Brett Davis |

Mazda has released a new video showcasing some of the engineering involved with the new Mazda BT-50. The BT-50 in the video is placed on a high-speed dyno and put through a number of high-load tests.

Once the testing is done, Mazda says the BT-50 is then pulled apart and all of the major components are inspected to ensure all tolerances and specifications are retained. Take a look below for more details.

And I’m sure no other manufacturer tests their products the same way ? Not sure the point of this article

…and I am not sure of the point of your comment… ;-)

Its called cynicism, do you think Mazda is the only manufacturer to put cars on a Dyno, the point is its not a story at all, if you get the point :)

…and the article/video doesn’t try to make it sound like they are the only one who do this. It seems more like a “for general interest” story. Either way it is still a pretty ordinary video that doesn’t really show that much other than normal manufacturer propaganda!

look, thats all well and good but not nearly as cool as the video of the new Ford Ranger towing the steam train posted up a few months ago.

    • Reckless1

You mean kinda like copying the Touareg towing a Jumbo from 8 years ago…….

  • Car Fanatic

Ford Towed a steam train? Sounds like the Touareg that towed a 747. I wonder how much Ballast Ford used to keep traction. VW used something like 4 tonnes of Ballast.

None at all actually, at first at least, they proved it could be done without it, but then also did do it with ballast.

The trick is once the train is rolling not much has to be done to keep it going!
