I think TATA has taken a very visionary step by unveiling this idea.
This car will not only make the reach of a car for everyone possible but also unleash many new ideas among the car makers. This is a complete car not just any other adapted transport vehicle and that too in just Rs 1 lakh. Tata has done a great job and i support there vision.
This is called innovation along with vision.

Plenty of visual character and charm. I sincerely hope it hits our shores one day.

To all concerned......the idea of a car promising nothing more than transportation to and from, would do well to service young and old (and hoons when they eventually grow-up. I would personally like to see them in the market branded under no other name than the current one, this is and will remain a win-win across the board.

Oh yeah! is it funny??

Let's see who all would buy a car with 2.6 ltr engine when fuel touches 3 dollars a ltr. and people Tata-nano has something called innovation and innovation is much different than mining and selling your natural resources to live.

Secondly, I see Toyota smart on Australian roads; if that can sell why not tata nano and anyways I don't worry about Aussie market once Europeans start buying it you will queue in to buy it.

I have many motorcycles (4) and a 2002 Kia Rio, an HJ Statesman (Sleeper), a 1989 Rover Mini and would love to buy a Nano to use as a commuter. To be able to park in the shopping centre and not worry about some idiot opening their door into your car would be great. I travel 13km and go through 15 sets of lights, the maximum speed limit on my trip is 70Km/h but you never get there, even in my V8.

I think they are a great idea and will be adopted as a second car by people who want to keep their other cars in good condition. With Learners now having to do 125 hours of supervised driving to get their P's this is a cheap way of driving that far. (What a strange place we live in...I will have to go for drives to help my sons get their licences... wasteing more expensive fuel than when they only needed 25 hours??????)

As long as it is faster than those awful scooters that have inundated the roads, I'll be happy.

People on scooters seem to take up as much room as a tiny car and they can't keep up with traffic.

Like i saod before, i would buy one AT-THAT-PRICE [no mark ups thanks!Wonder what wholesale is on them?] and my son can use it to learn to drive around the farm with it.

Has a roof, seat belts heater etc, HAS to be better than a motorbike or ag-bike.

I can tow a motorised mower deck behind it

Win x Win

Made for Indian rough roads so would suit rough farm land~!

Cheers

Its a good effort to get people off little bikes into small cars. No pretences on what it aims to do so 0-100km time comparisons are silly. Its meant to allow people a chance to get into car ownership from motorbikes. Now its got the giants like Toyota, bankrupt GM thinking seriously about a sub $5000 car...and that cant be all bad. All in all a good result with the selling point constraints.

It seems to be a revival of citroen 3CV.
It also had a 2cylinder .6 litre and 32cv engine.
only difference is a long time from the last 3cv and some extra make up in this Tata model.

With a top speed of 105km and 0-70 dealt with in 14seconds, I am not a fan...

I think they are planning to sell this for AUD $ 2,835

I understand the weatherproof motorbike for India concept (taking the family out etc) but the fact they hope to export it - arrgh!!

Sorry - dont think much of this... its not a car!!
