Shayton Equilibrium – a new supercar on the block

It seems that every month, a new supercar manufacturer foists its latest creation on us, and here's March's quota - the Shayton Equilibrium.

At the moment, it exists in the digital world only, so these pics are renderings, naturally. But with a bit of Maserati MC-12, Aston Martin One-77 and Ferrari Enzo thrown in, the Slovenian company has come up with a rather derivative design.

Still, it's low and wide and that counts for something. The spec sheets also reads like a supercar's handbook. A midmounted V12 produces around 800kW and 930Nm. Aluminium and carbon-fibre chassis and bodywork means the car weighs a scant 1200kg.

It'll do 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200km/h in just 8.5 seconds and - says Shayton - it'll crack 400km/h. To slow it down, it uses Brembo brakes behind 20-inch fronts with 265mm tyres and the rears are 21-inch wheels shod with 365mm rubber.

Inside, there's leather, alcantara, carbon-fibre, brushed aluminium and even a Bang and Olufsen sound system.

Here's hoping anyway. The plans are to build 20 cars. Starting when? Who knows...
