I recently changed from Subaru to Skoda. I don't believe Subaru has come in the last five years.
Initial impression of my Octavia 2L TDI DSG wagon...very impressed.
Skoda should perhaps look at motor sport to place the brand in the publics' eye.

Sunday 3rd I went with my little son to the Skoda Local Partner in Burwood on Parramatta Rd and looked mainly at the station wagon and would't have mind a clsoer look, as I wanted to upgrade (salary sacrifice) from my Toyota station wagon. 2 sales persons were in the show room possibly busy over some very important stuff. I was there probabbly for at least 20 minutes. I guess it was just a little early for getting some attention, it was 10.15am. or, perhaps they already have done enough sales for the day.

^Thanks R1,
I'd read that the new Forester was built on the Impreza chassis right up to using the same dashboard.
Question is: is it really a new Forester or a jacked up re-suited Impreza?

Sorry, Lcat, sat in the Forester and Outback but not the Imprezza. Forester felt quite good, dash looked OK but a bit weird with the "droop" centre section. Outback had the very light trim colour and would show every fly shit if you went outback in it, couldn't handle that colour, but looked and felt OK as well :)

The new Tribeca looked OK, saw one on the road on the way to the Shed, but shit ! the price is nearly up to $70,000 - what the %^&*#$.

Phillip, whats your fascination with VW??
Is platform sharing a new concept to you??
holden commodore has been an opel/gm platform for years... (maybe with the exception of the VE)

anyway skoda is a much older brand then vw, and not like the vw has a yeti or a roomster?!

Have just planted my bum in a few cars at the show.

The Skodas are right up the top of the quality/value feel and were very popular, with lots of favourable comments.

I actually prefer the Skoda dash layout to the Passat, and although I love the Mazda6, I think the Skoda is better value.

The new Forester was also pretty good.
