mate i agree that fuel figures should be shown separetly for urban and H’wy driving.

the only figures that split them up that i have seen is for an LPG 4sp falcon.
they give it 9L/100k on HWY and 16L/100k for city for a combined total and official figure of 15.9L/100k.
dont ask me how that works but thats what it is.

a falcon is just as fuel efficient as the smaller engined “game changing” aurion dont forget

Some of the other tricks that the Taylors use to conserve fuel:

1. Put the left wheel onto the white line on the edge of the road, as the smoother surface saves some fuel.

2. Disengage the clutch on long downhill stretches.

I tried these and a few others things that have already been mentioned like 38psi in the tyres, and I managed to get 5.2l/100km in a fully loaded Honda Jazz from Sydney to Melbourne, and I drove to the speed limit (110kph most of the way), not at 80kph.

Aurion are the quickest to 100kmh of any aussie “NA” 6, and EASILY the best powertrain in Oz for the money.”))

Awww Golfie – you make me laugh. Yep that Clio was a tad odd and didn’t even go that well from what I vaguely remember, and the golf clubs wouldn’t fit in the boot/trunk.

Something very funny happened a few years ago when Renault heard that VW was planning a 3 litre small car; they went ahead and stuffed a 3 litre V6 amidships in a Clio. It was sensational.

When VW released their 3 litre car at the same motor show, it turned out to be a 3.0litre/100 km car.

That’s a little trivia for Mr Frugal :)

I have a dedicated LPG ute and LPG fills are a lot harder to find in country areas in NSW anyway from experience.

Mate watch out in couple of weeks, the FAMILY caravan comes out for another run down to Mount Gambier. And no I don’t tow it at 100km/h, more like 90. What that does is allow those who want to do the “100 plus a bit” a greater speed margin to pass safely.

We DON’T need people sitting on 80kmh and making a congo-line behind them, its very annoying.At least if the would MOVE the *uck over, and have the courtesy to let everyone pass…..

I get around them, the semi and double-B’S will just push them out of the way, and rightly so.

Please do the 100kmh, THAT MEANS U CARAVANERS!!![Should been in a retirment village! :-)]
